The van lost steering fluid and the steering wheel made a funny sound when it was turned. The dealership indicated that the steering cooler hose had split. The cooler hose split due to the defect described in the power steering fluid leakage recall 04V386000, but this model was not part of the recall. There was a shudder coming from the steering wheel when sittin gstill and moving the steering wheel from side to side.
Over the past 15 months, our 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan sport has blown 4 hydraulic hoses. 3 times on the power steering return lines and 1 transmission cooler hose.
