This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My Dodge Caravan has 47,000 highway miles on it and is two years old. I just brought it in for an oil change and was told that it needs a new head gasket. My mechanic tells me that this is a recurring problem with these vehicles and that he has seen at least twenty other cases of this problem in cars with less than 50,000 miles. I am certain that this is worthy of review for a recall if it can be assumed that every mechanic has seen twenty such instances.
While driving 70 mph vehicle will completely shut down without warning, this problem also occurs while vehicle is stopped at traffic lights. Dealer replaced the iac motor and crankshaft sensor which did not correct the problem.
