Electrical fire in far left section of dash. Parked van, turned off headlights, shut van off & then smoke came out the A/C vent next to the driver's door. After less than two minutes I could see a flickering glow behind the left end of the instrument panel. In two or three minutes max, there were flames coming out of the A/C vent, the opening for the hood release & then through a hole that opened in the dash. Two shots from the fire extinguisher put out the fire.

No damage is visible from under the hood. The fire appears to have been contained to that corner of the dash. I feel that if I didn't have an extinguisher that the van would have been destroyed.
