Vehicle began making whining sounds and started to shift erratically. Consumer was advised it needed a rebuilt transmission. Consumer had the work performed, only to have it go out again. This time a factory rebuilt transmission was installed, which subsequently failed also. A total of four (4) times the transmission failed.
Engine check light has illuminated on the dash. Also, computerized transmission is locked into second gear. Consumer has contacted the dealer. Found broken wire in the harness that connects the transmission computer to the main computer. Break in harness in dash-firewall..et.
