This problem has been going on for better than a year now. I would like to know how often and what would cause Dodge / Chrysler to have it get to the level of a recall. It is a problem, it recurs, and it is inconvenient in the most aggravating way. Please, if someone can help or team together to get this matter looked at by the manufacturer as a serious defect.
This problem has occurred enough times that I've purchased the tensioner tool so that I can re install the fan belt myself. I can perform this operation in 15 minutes , including placing the vehicle on a jack stand to access the belt from underneath. I understand there is a TSB that claims the motor mount has to be changed in order to stop the belt from slipping off in wet weather. Anyone else experience this ??
