When driving transmission slips like it is in neutral. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer stated parts in transmission were broken which which caused the problem.
After driving at highway speeds the van would no longer shift out of 2nd gear.it would remain stuck in 2nd until the van was turned off/on. Upon restarting the cycle would complete. I was told by an independent mechanic that the transmission needed to be rebuilt and when I contacted Chrysler iwas told that I was on my own that they were not responsible. I informed them of the large number of documented problems with these vans and that this was a well known problem, but they insisted that there were no problems and that it was my responsibility. I have an appointment with a Dodge dealer to look at the car.

While driving, transmission failed. Repair shop found the transmission case had cracked with no appearant reason, causing all fluid to leak out of transmission. Dodge dealer claims this a known problem, but no help from Dodge because warranty has expired. I can't understand how a cast case can just crack if it is not a manufacturing defect.
While traveling at approximately 35 mph a clicking noise came from under the van. I removed my foot from the accelerator and the noise softened. I then reingaged the accelerator to resume speed at this point there was a loud noise from under the van and I observed pieces of metal and fluid exiting the rear of the van. The transmission was disengauged and I coasted about 1/8 of a mile to and area were I could safety exit the roadway.
While driving about any speed transmission will loosen. Could step on fuel pedal and vehicle will not accelarate, will lose power steering into the vehicle and it will stop by itself.
Replaced original transmission at 37,485 miles, Dodge corporation admitted to irregularity with transmission. Replaced transmission with customer $100 payment. Replaced transmission broke again with 55,000 on it due to probably same condition, vehicle has not been diagnosed as of this time. Dealer thinks is the same failure.
I received a radiator fan relay recall, could this defective relay help the major transmition seals fail" if so, is Dodge/Chrysler respnsible for the $1300 repair of the faulty transmision seals? if so, how do I file a claim with the manufacturer" the transmission repair shop claims the seal failure was due to extreme heat, he stated that the seals were very brittle, like dry noodles, nothing like the soft rubber that they should resemble.
Independent mechanics have told us of many failures of transmissions and head gaskets, and they say that Dodge is paying half the cost as they did with us to avoid a recall where Dodge would have to pay the full cost of repair. Rec.
Transmission had to be rebuilt. Lost power on interstate but family in jepordy. According to transmission repair vendor not uncommon for Dodge minivans. Please notify if there is any recourse or opportunity to file complaint with others.
My transmission needs to be rebuilt with approximately 82,000 miles on my vehicle. It is going to cost nearly $2500 to make this repair. Shouldn't the company be held responsible for this cost" why should I" I have had GM cars that exceeded 100,000 miles without a single problem. It seems that I am not the only individual facing this problem with the company.
