Man where do I start, the transmission sucks, loud scratching grinding noise is all you hear. Once it goes its going to the scrap yard. Constantly replacing parts. this is my first car, will not buy another dodge again

This is now the third transmission to be in my Caliber. I'm glad that I have the lifetime warranty, else I'd be pissing bullets! The first failed after 17K miles. The second failed at 113K miles. It's a joke!

I will never buy a Chrysler product again. I bought the vehicle new, serviced it regularly at the dealer. I chose to trade it in as is, because after I spent $4,000 in repairs. I chose not to change the transmission. I washed my hands of it as well as Chrysler.

I Have a 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT.Bought it new,not long after i bought it there was a noise, sounded like from the transmission when going slow. Took it back to dealer they said it was normal. But i talked to other people with the same make and year car and they don't have the problem. It is very annoying. I paid a lot of money for this car.Its a whining grinding noise, when going so.I don't think its normal.

took car out of garage for early am trip "downtown", about a 2 mile jaunt. When accelerating from 0 to 20 mph I frequently hear a whining, grinding noise, then it smooths out at 20 to 25 mph. This trip, it was a loud sound like an elephant (not kidding here) trumpeting, grinding like metal on metal like it was trying to get in gear built couldn't make it. Lasted about 5 seconds, stopped for 5 or so seconds, and repeated itself. At the first Stop sign, I actually stopped the car, and re-started to MAKE SURE I had the auto x-mission in gear. I did. The sound continued the entire short trip. Parked car for an hour at destination, that intensity of sound has not happened again. The frequent whining grinding noise has been an off again on again problem for almost a year. Original dealer and Chrysler referral dealer can't find a problem, nor can they duplicate this condition. Still under warranty, 9,400 miles.

the dealer said it was an outer bushing on the tie rod end. i laughed at it. then they said it was a filter in the exhausting system. i laugh at it again. the dealer was supposed to find out the problem at detroit, mich. it has been a month since i have heard from them. they don't want to examine the transmission because they don't know the scratching noise that is under the hood or the transmission. this happens all the time at a low speed, from 10 to 20 m.p.h. it is getting very frustrating.
