My 2009 Dodge Caliber MIL light went on. I took it to STS for repair - they indicated there was an Electrical problem and the Auto-Stop wire was causing the MIL light to go on, so they disengaged the Auto-Stop wire.
After driving, stopping, and re-starting the vehicle, the MIL light went back on. It was taken back to STS who again were able to get the MIL light to turn off. However, the next day, while driving, the Car stalled and stopped in traffic, causing a severe danger. I had to be towed back to STS, who said it was a transmission problem, somehow they got the MIL light to go off again - but it didn't last. Now it was time to take this vehicle to the Manufacturer - so I took it to Lester Glenn Chrysler Dodge in Toms River, NJ - they too got the light to go off, but it did not last - It went back a second time to the Dealer - same thing happened. The Technician contacted Chrysler-Dodge Corporate Tech Support to assist him in how to fix this vehicle. They have not gotten back to the Technician, and the MIL light remains on in my vehicle. The Service Department states it is the TIPM BOX, which controls all wiring in the vehicle. However, it is expensive to replace. They are still waiting for Tech Support to get back to them. In the interim, I can not drive the vehicle, as it is Unsafe to drive.
