So a friend of mine is a great mechanic and I trust him. He owns his own shop. He replaced the tie rods and sway bar links, so that makes it maybe a year since I had just had the front stabilizer/sway bar replaced and needed replaced again. He also told me that the frame(Cradle) was also starting to rot and that the this kind of car is junk and has all front end problems, which is very true

Caliber SXT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

1 month off lease and I'm told my left tie rod needs to be replaced! I have never had a car that the tie rods need to be replaced before at least 100,000 miles. What's the deal?

How many complaints does Dodge need to get before they recall this car? Get this, my sister has one too and she had the same problem 3 months ago. she has less than 55,000 miles on her car. Kind of sours me on buying a Dodge again.

Caliber SXT 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

My Caliber was making a grinding noise down the steering shaft when I would take off. I could feel the grinding up the steering shaft to the steering wheel and when I was driving, I could feel every small bump in the road. I wasn’t sure what the problem was exactly until I took it in to have it checked. They showed me the ball joints that were so loose they could pop out of socket at any time. The mechanic mentioned that he had never seen a front end that bad on a car with 39,000 miles.
