The gas gauge arrow randomly moves to "empty" often after just filling up the tank. The "need gas" indicator and engine symbol lights come on. The gas gauge usually returns to almost to the correct level of gas within a matter of minutes, but the engine symbol stays on through several cycles of having turned the car completely off.
