not getting power, car starts will not move hear winding

Bought this car new, aggravating, bought the extended warranty and it only covers up to 100,000 miles. I have taken good care of this car, followed owners manual. Trying to keep a positive look. I believe in buying American made car, but after this might look at something different. What is bad is that this car is not paid off yet. As soon as I can getting rid of it. No more American made cars for me going to try a foreign car. Have friends that have over 200,000 miles and still no problems with their car. What is the point of the extended warranty by the time you needed it is no longer good. I think they make the cars to last only so long like right after you warranty is no longer in effect.

Avenger SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 116 miles

It was in and out of shops for over a year until they narrowed down a possible problem. The transmission acts like a stick shift when trying to accelerate to highway speed, versus auto shifting on its own and is most problematic on incline roads. To date it has not been completely fixed. The RPM wants to climb to 5 or more when trying to accelerate to highway speed.

Update from May 1, 2015: I showed dodge the video of how the car is having gear shifting problems and how the rpm needle bounces past into the red zone when accelerating at an incline. They had the car for two days and claim to not find a problem. I showed the video to other car shops and they indicated there is a transmission or clutch problem. I am feeling that dodge is giving me the run around on this problem which has been outstanding for almost three years. I may have to use an outside impartial shop for this fix.

Avenger SXT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

Two months after I got the car (brand new) the transmission wouldn't shift. I was on highway and had to pull off. I turned the car off and back on and it was okay. I didn't buy a new car to have to shut it off for the dumb think to work. It has been a total of 6 times to dealership for same problem. They have replaced a valve body and the computer on the transmission. They are just grasping at straws. I put quite a few miles on my vehicles, driving to work. I now have 22,000 on it and still having problems.

Just got back from vacation where I had to take a rental car, because of same problem. (Chrysler did pay for the rental) Chrysler is not willing to do anything with it until they can recreate the problem. it doesn't happen all of the time so I am relying on the computer to tell them, which it doesn't get specific enough. They can tell something happened but they don't know what. They have given me my car back after 10 days and nothing was done to it this time, because Chrysler said so. This is my 4th Chrysler vehicle and will be my last!! Your vehicle is probably the second biggest purchase a person makes, other than their home. We should not have to go through this kind of trouble to get something fixed that we pay so much for.

Any suggestions?
