I cannot believe with the automotive technology available that a squeaky brake problem is unable to be fixed. "That's the way it is" "working on the problem"

I bought the car brand new. About the 3 month mark I have problems with the brakes squeaking & the brake light coming on. Every time I take the car to Kendall Dodge they say the same thing, there is nothing wrong with the car. Obviously there is something wrong for a brand new car to have so many issues with the brakes. My warranty is almost up & nothing gets resolved..

I purchased my 2013 Dodge Avenger on March 21st 2014. It had only 314 miles on it and the following week my brakes started screeching. I took it to the dealership where I got it at and they "deglazed" them. Went back a second time only 1 month later only to wait an hour to hear there is nothing they can do. They tell me Chrysler knows of the problem and are trying to figure out how to fix it. Here it is almost a full year later and now instead of them screeching now they howl. It may not be all the time but the last thing I want to hear when I go somewhere is my car screaming at me. Especially first thing in the morning. Sometimes I just want to take it to the dealer and tell them to keep it and cut my losses.

I went to the Dodge dealership where I purchased the car and spoke to the parts person about the squeaky brakes when backing up. He told me that there was no fix. Seriously - no fix? He said that he had the same problem - when backing up the brakes squeak. I asked if changing the brakes would fix it. He said no there is no fix. No fix is not a acceptable answer. I need to find a way to pursue this with Dodge. Any suggestions? I didn't have any problems with my Neon whatsoever.

My brakes have been grinding and squeaking. I took the car to Dodge, and of course, they don't see the problem. I think they are just waiting for a total failure. They don't want to fix anything under warranty!!! Everything that is wrong with my car the is really obvious to every mechanic and the Dodge salesman, the service dept can't find the problem. What a bunch of crooks! NO MORE AMERICAN VEHICLES!!! I have had to take off work several times and spend the day with DODGE service for nothing. I am a single mother. I don't have time for this. They won't even give me a complimentary loaner car for the day so that I can at least pick up my kids and get to work!!

Every time I go to back out of somewhere the brakes make a loud squeaking noise. It is very annoying especially for a new car. My wife's father has the v6 version of the Avenger and it does not have this issue. I am not sure why Dodge does not just upgrade the brakes to the v6 version to solve this very annoying issue. I can pull in somewhere then back out and it will do it. It is not a rust build up. I think it is just crappy design.

CAR IS NOW JUST OVER A YEAR OLD AND IS NOW AT DEALER FOR THE TENTH....YES TENTH TIME FOR EXTREME BRAKE NOISE !!!! THEY HAVE REPLACE AND RESURFACE ROTORS, REPLACED BRAKE PADS FRONT AND REAR, AND NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

I HAVE HAD A CASE OPEN WITH DODGE/CHRYSLER CORPORATE FOR THE LAST 4 TRIPS IN AND CORPORATE HAS NOW TOLD ME THAT MY AVENGER IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED ( WAS IT DESIGNED TO SQUEAL AND GRIND LIKE A SEMI TRUCK WITH HOT BRAKES????) . I HAVE ASKED DODGE/CHRYSLER FOR HELP TO GET ME INTO A DIFFERENT VEHICLE....AND THEY BASICALLY TELL ME I AM SCREWED!! SO TEN TIMES FOR BRAKES AND DID I MENTION A TRIP IN FOR A FAILED PCM, AND NO HELP FROM CHRYSLER CORP!! WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THE CAR BACK AFTER THE TENTH...YES TENTH BRAKE SERVICE IS COMPLETE! OH HEY JUST TO FILL YOU IN....I AM A GREAT DODGE CUSTOMER....I BOUGHT 3 NEW DODGES, 2 RAMS AND THIS AVENGER, JUST LAST YEAR!! YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD GIVE THAT A BIT OF CONSIDERATION!!! OH HEY I AM A SERVICE MANAGER THAT PURCHASES PARTS FROM THEM ALSO!!!! SO MUCH FOR LOYALTY!!

Avenger SE 2.4L

Bought this car brand new from dealer with only 10 miles on it. When car sits for awhile and then I get into it to drive it the brakes start squeaking. Brought to the dealer to check it and they said it was just dirt brake dust. The squeak just got more and more so back to dealer again, they said its normal. Checked on line more people complaining about same problem. Even guy at Dodge dealer said they used cheap brake pads for all Dodges and Chrysler's. Sounds like a Big Recall to me.

Left car at Dealer for 2 days to check whole brake system, dealer came back everything normal, bunch of bullshit. Now car has 17,000 miles, brakes are done, pads are worn out. Will replace this week with ceramic pads. This is a big defect on Dodge pads, should not wear out this quick. Everyone is paying lots of money for their cars, you want something to last for awhile. Big companies making lots of money off us little people. Don't think I will buy Dodge or Chrysler again, will probably trade in soon. Toyota looks interesting.

I bought this car brand new still wrapped in plastic and whenever I drive in reverse and use the breaks they squeal quite loudly. I've gone in to the dealership to get it looked at 5 times already. First they couldn't hear it and said it was probably just from sitting a while, but it happens even after I stop for 1 minute. The next time they heard it and said it was just break dust so they cleaned it out and it did nothing. Then the next time they resurfaced the breaks, still not fixed. Now they are just saying its normal and its just a thing with Avengers.

I feel like this is a pretty big issue that should have been fixed before they released the Avenger as I've noticed many people seem to be complaining about this issue or similar ones since this model came out. It's not causing any safety issues but it is embarrassing; I know people look at me funny and think 'this guy really needs to change his brakes'..
