4 yrs with a 2013 Dodge Avenger and It’s Been Nothing But headaches from the Beginning. First we never checked the trunk, So 2 days later We find out the switch on key don’t work, and to open trunk YOU got to pull hard up to get open.. Then tires needed replaced about a month later Come to find out WE have a Broken wheel Who’s eating our tire up faster then others...Then a year later Engine Blows $2,000 Got it fixed.... Then a recall comes in the mail. So we go get that done. Then months later The Airbag light comes on and stays on. Took it to Dodge Dealership in Avon Park Fl. They want $1,300 to go in head rest airbag to take light off..... Then I gave a Jump start to My other vehicle AND the next day Dodge broke down. Needed an Alternator replaced.... NOW NOW My AC goes out!!!!... And Yet Up To Date with payments...... Got half way thru... What Should We Do??

Looks like this is a common problem. Looks like it needs to be addressed as maybe a recall fix. I'm sure there are more people out there with the same problem and just fixing it instead of reporting it. My car is virtually a new vehicle 4 yrs old with only 45000 miles on it. This shouldn't be happening with this little mileage.

I had replaced the air door actuator this same time last yr. almost to the date. I don't know if this is the same problem or what is going on but highly agitated that I am going through this again. My heat just stopped working. I will be checking the fuse then the fluids before I go through replacing the actuator again. Personally I think its ridiculous.

I was so excited to buy this vehicle on 10/2012 and I was a very proud Dodge vehicle owner. Though I love the car in every other way, it didn't take long for the heat to stop working on the passenger side of the vehicle and absolutely no one can ride in the car with me now because in this MN winter where I live it gets dangerously cold. This had completely turned me off of Dodge vehicles and I have switched to Jeep. I still own that Avenger and I need to get it fixed but since I discovered the cost I am dreading the damage to my pocketbook. Dodge has robbed me by selling me and others defective vehicles.

When taking long trips the A/C buttons stop working a) the system won't turn off or b) it won't bring the air to the right position and C) often the heater will act as a fogger and fog up the windows to the invisibility stage and then you have to stop driving until it clears. This has been going on for a long time and took over a year to diagnose they changed one part . It only helped temporarily and at the same time of that service they caused other electrical damage to other parts.

Update from May 1, 2015: Dodge is changing this whole unit. I will test it out and see if it works well on hot days and/or long drives.

Update from May 29, 2015: Dodge replaced the A/C button unit inside the car. It still doesn't work on long trips or hot days. I went to show another Dodge shop. He said it could be the new unit or some other malfunction he needed to diagnose it and gave me another appointment. That sucks! the other shop should of fixed it right or Chrysler should just give me another car and stop with all the electrical cover ups on my car's maintenance problems. No the problem was not fixed on this 2013 Dodge Avenger. Its a terrible car don't buy it. Too many sensor or fuse or other electrical repair problems.
