2012 Dodge Avenger. 80K miles. Heating issue: My heat only blows "warm" air out of the driver's side vent. It is not even hot air, just warm. The other vents are blowing cold air. The heater actuator door has been replaced twice - no improvement. The thermostat has been replaced - no improvement. The heater core has been flushed - no improvement. After driving for approximately 30 minutes it will warm slightly, but still very cold in the car during the winter.

My car is blowing cold air on the passenger side. I just had the heater core and the actuator door replaced back in the summer and it cost us over $2000. This issue started back in February and we waited until summer to fix it but now a few weeks into the cold weather and here we go again. The heat worked for about a week and now the passenger side is blowing cold air again. I called Dodge and was told it was a manufactures defect but there was no recalls so they stated that I had to pay to get it fixed again. The place that fixed it stated that the heater core has like a film that breaks off and the particles block the heat. There is so many people having the same issues but many calls to Dodge and they will not pay to have this fixed. Can you help, I can not afford to fix this again! and I have a 30 mile commute to work, now I am sick from being so cold daily.

Since 2016, my car has been out of heat on the passenger side and is now starting to lose heat on the driver side. I have had great up-keep on my car and get it fixed on a regular bases. During the winter my car is freezing cold. It is only letting heat out on the far left driver side vent and this is starting to blow cold air too. It takes forever to warm the inside of my car or never warms up at all. I'm unsure what the underlying problem is that I see is very common for this type of car. Being in the military I don't have thousands of dollars to get this fix. It is totally a manufactures defect and need to fixed immediately.

There is a clicking noise in the dash due to the A/C system. The dealer is aware of this being an issue in many cars and refuses to fix it. It appeared just after the warranty was expired. This happens whenever the A/C or fan is running.

This issue is a defective heater core. Casting and metal shavings clog heater core to where your car cannot heat the passenger side of your car. This is very dangerous due to the car not having the ability to defrost front and back wind shields during inclement weather. The problem arises with how to the heater sits behind the dash. It causes this issue to repeat even if heater core is replaced. This problem is very dangerous and is a $1,000 plus repair that will repeatedly occur nearly every year or so.

No heat or defrost on passengers side of vehicle: I feel that it is a safety issue when the window has frost on it or fogs during driving. On November 20, 2017 I went to the dealership with no heat or defrost on the passengers side of car. The dealership found that the heater core was plugged. The car was out of the Dodge warranty and the after market warranty I had bought with the vehicle felt it was from "normal wear and tear". doing research on-line. I have found that Dodge knows of an issue with this particular engine and sand left behind during production but won't admit to it. I am headed back to the dealership again (Nov 14, 2018) to report that the repair that they made last November needs to be done again, I have no heat or defrost on the passenger side and that it is a safety issue when the window has frost on it or fogs during driving.

The heat on the driver side is blowing out warm air while the vents above the radio and on the passenger side are blowing out cold air. Turning the car off or turning the air from cold to hot does not fix the problem. Defrost is not getting warm enough to defrost the windows

When heat or ac is turned on either in motion or not there is a clicking noise coming from the passenger dashboard about five clicks and the clicks will stop and the heat will come out of driver side, but cool air on passenger side. If turned off and back on it will repeat the five clicking noise and the heat will kick on. Also this "heat" is lukewarm at best.

Takata recall also heater core issue. Heat only blows on drivers side when set to heat and cold air blows on passenger side. Seems to be a known issue with Chrysler but they do not want to force a recall. Transmission also slams into gear when stopping and at times before acceleration. No dip stick to verify fluid level. Dealer states nothing wrong with it. They stated they flushed heater core and still have same issue. This happens driving in winter or summer on highway, city streets.

Passenger side had knocking after using ac. Cold weather came and now my heat on the passenger side does not work. I've looked this up and see lots of others are having this exact same problem and people are paying well over $1K to have it repaired. I cannot afford that especially when this seems to be a defect for the Dodge. I would like for this to be covered under warranty.

My 2012 Dodge Avenger rt has no heat on the passenger side. Not only is this uncomfortable, it is also unsafe as this leads to the windshield not being able to be defrosted. Many sites I have seen people with this same issue. Dodge needs to own up to this and fix this safety hazard.
