Rear passenger caliper caused occasional grinding noise, uneven pad wear, and disc scarring. First started at 36k-37k (after warranty.) Attempted replacing pads and re-greasing of hardware, made no improvement. Brake light is now coming on when braking down hill and a noticeable loss in stopping ability. R/R rear calipers this weekend (replacing as pair,) because of problem will also be replacing pads and discs. Also bleeding and replacing brake fluid. Current millage is ~39k.
If this were the only problem with my Dodge, I would take it with a grain of salt, but it not. I've never bee so screwed over by a car purchase in my life. My first car, a 1999 Ford Taurus that I drove for 130k millage up to just OVER 200k miles, didn't have the constant problems that I am having with this 2009 Dodge Avenger that has LESS than 40k miles. I love driving it, but not enough to justify the costs. Will never buy another Chrysler again and have saved at least two friends who were actually looking at a Dodge and a Jeep from wasting their money.
Car needed new front brakes and rotors after only 8200 miles. Covered under warranty, but should not have happened. I'm not a hard braker. My last car (jeep wrangler) went 12 years without having to replace rotors..
Dealer will not cover new brakes and rotors again. There is definitely a problem with this car model's brakes. These rotors only lasted approx 13,000 miles. I do not abuse the car. half my driving is done on the parkway-not during rush hour- no major braking... I tried to do the right thing and buy a Dodge when the company was in trouble. Last Chrysler product I ever buy!!! Fortunately I can do the work myself. Hopefully aftermarket rotors and brakes will do better..

Happened 2 times, even with new brakes and rotors. Only about half wear on brake pads or less!
