My Avenger's brake light comes on at least 3 times a day. When I took it to Dodge, they said they fixed the issue, but it returned in a week. The car has been either resisting or over-accelerating when I press the gas for about 6 weeks now. My spouse thinks it is a spark plug that is mis-firing, as his 1998 4Runner had the same issue and that fixed the problem. That is a cheap fix, so I wanted to share it. Today was the first time the Avenger completely stalled while I was braking to pull into a space. My Avenger is at 45K miles.
I have heard that Dodge is very bad when it comes to Transmission I didn't believe it til I purchased this vehicle and starting to have the problem at 31,000 miles WOW crazy. It's not major yet bu I'm sure that it won't take long. It idles low then high and then shifts funny and everyonce in a while it stalls AAHH.. I still owe way too much for the problem but hey what to do..
