After being released from jail for being accused for DUI, I bought my vehicle in to Mark Dodge and they never detected that this was an actual problem. On 2012 December 31, this time the accident was near fatal, however, my seat belt prevented me from being injured during the accident. Both accidents I was blamed and arrested. The collision impacts into moving structures at speed rates above 45 miles per hour to prevent involving other human beings and causing injuries both times never caused deployment of the airbags. Thank God I use seat belts and Thank God that I am still alive.

I'm just stranded out of state with no transportation, drivers license confiscated and the car I once was very proud of is un-drivable and if and when it's repaired I believe it would be risky business to consider it a safe vehicle to drive...

My Dodge Avenger had this serious problem. I was afraid I would crash into someone else's car. Holding onto the break was serious work. It had to be pressed down and held very hard. Glad there was a fix for it and it was under warranty unlike my new electrical problems.

Bought car in Oct/07 NEW! March of 2008 reported car wanted to take off by itself when I was stopped at a signal light. Took to dealer and was told nothing wrong. Car also shut off in traffic, took to dealer and was told it was my Ipod that I use in my car??? Hello car equipped for Ipod! Sudden Acceleration kept going on for the next two years off and on until March 1st of 2010 pulled into parking lot at store, put car into park and it took off again. Thank god it was in park or it would of gone through store doors, two days later pulling up to a red signal light , foot on brake and it took off again! Knew I had to get it to dealer. March 4th they took car and I just got it back on March 20th to them telling me there is NOTHING wrong once again with this car. They drove my car 9 miles from the time I gave it to them to the day I got it back. They had Supervisors come in to check over car and I was told they pulled the black box from my car and there were no codes so nothing is wrong. I have a lease on this car, in order to get out of it I have to pay them for a car that I am afraid to drive and they feel nothing is wrong. This is so sad and no one will help me with this problem. I really like the dealership but as for buying another car from there or Dodge I am not sure, no one wants to take this seriously! What will it take-my family getting hurt or killed because they say there is nothing worng with the car!

First encounter with sudden acceleration - my car was in park and idling normally. I stepped out of the vehicle and was collecting my mail when the car revved up suddenly. Duration 5-6 seconds before it returned to normal idling. Second encounter was the next morning, appx 9:30 am. Car had been running for appx 10 minutes (normal city driving). Was sitting at a stop light with my foot solidly on the brake when the car again revved up and jumped forward. Eased up then applied firm pressure on the brake to shift car into neutral until the car dropped back down to normal RPM.

Contacted dealership, did some online searching, see there are a few other complaints regarding 2008 Nitros, but no response from Chrysler or dealership yet. They're looking at my car later this week to try diagnose problem, but pretty much blew off my complaint/concern.
