I tell you I did not know what I was getting into with this automobile, once the engine light came on and I had it checked, I NOW KNOW I'VE BOUGHT A LEMON, that Dodge will not acknowledge is a major problem! I had the problem diagnosed and spent $350.00 when one code said it was the sensor was bad, then paid to have that done to have the engine light come back on and say that the intake manifold needs replaced and then the computer program will need to be reset which so far racks up another possible $900 to fix and in the meantime
I have not been able to smog the car!. I am so distraught. This is my work car, paying a car note, plus trying
to get it in compliance, and going to the DMV, is scary, because I now have 30 days to get this done if I am going to be able to drive. I have read online countless situations with this model, that have me angry at myself that I trusted that I was being sold a vehicle I could depend on. It was stalling at slow downs and lights until I had the $350 paid for a sensor and Dodge Chrysler is not recalling to be fixed. What is one to do??Who can I call to
report this issue, we all with this problem need to get together and DO SOMETHING. We are not all rich and have money to throw around for a car, that I was doing regular routine maintenance and thinking I was taking care of my

Took car to garage. They informed me after putting car on the computer it came back with code of p2004. The garage advised me this was a recall and should be covered by dealership. When I contacted the dealership they said it was not covered as a recall.
I have seen this issue reported many times and it should be recalled, it cost me $870 just for the replacement and more just to have a test done to tell me that was the problem.
My check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic for a diagnosis. I had codes people have been posting which means my car needs have the Intake Manifold replaced because a valve issue. Apparently, you can't just get the value from Dodge - you need to replace the whole thing. And then apparently it may still have to go to the dealer to be re-flashed for another $250-$300!
Research saying this is really common. My mechanic called and said he's seeing all kinds of stuff about it. This repair possibly going to cost me nearly $900 by time it's done. For a value?!
I finally bought a nice car a few years ago because I was sick and tired of having to perform maintenance on my older car that was not reliable. I loved everything about this car until the day my check engine light came on. I took it to Meineke for a diagnosis and had to pay $50 just for them to tell me I need to take it to the Dodge Dealership!!! I had codes P2004 and P2017 which means my car needs to be reflashed and have the Intake Manifold replaced because a valve was stuck open!!! I did tons of research and cars built through March 22, 2007 needed a new Intake Manifold PR# 04884495AF....well come to find out my car was built in June 2007 so I wouldn't qualify for it being under warranty. This repair is going to cost $940 at the dealership to fix!!! Not to mention they told me they had shuttle service once I dropped my car off. I dropped the car off and waiting in the waiting room for an hour and a half with no one giving me any update. Finally 5 minutes before they closed I just had a friend come get me.... I have read online that 2008 Dodge Avengers and Jeeps are having the same issue with this stupid Intake Manifold needing to be replaced. I am trying to get them to issue a recall, but if they don't I am tempted to get a lawyer and take them to court!
