Again I was driving my 08 Dodge Avenger SXT and while pulling onto a main road I lost all power to the vehicle, no power steering, no lights, nothing. I again had to hurry up put the car in park and re-start it. My husband took the car to our Dodge service center on March 17, 2008. They hooked up a computer to the car, & test drove it and found nothing to be wrong with it. The mechanic told my husband that there is no recall about this problem, nor are there any complaints in the U.S (apparently there is at least one other person with this problem) If there are any other people out there with this happening please email me.

Avenger SXT

I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT at the time I had 5700 miles on the car. While I was driving it in a parking lot, I lost all power, the car stalled and shut off. I couldn't turn the wheel, I had to put the car in park and re-start it. Thank goodness there were no other cars around me at the time, as this could have been a bad accident.

Avenger SXT 2.4L

This is extremely dangerous! my son's new 2008 Dodge Avenger lost complete power while driving on the interstate. Luckily he was in the left lane and was able to pull over. Power steering, brake lights, airbags and all engine functions completely failed instantly. The car is under warranty, but I am more interested in informing drivers of a potential serious problem. If my son was not in the left lane this could have been a very serious situation. Please have you car checked, my nine year old son was also in the car. Very scary.
