The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. The contact has experienced multiple issues with the brakes failing. While driving 35 mph, he depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle would not stop. He sped through a stop light and was able to finally stop the vehicle after applying more pressure to the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the ABS hydraulic unit and the master cylinder were failing. The vehicle was repaired. Since that time, the master cylinder and hydraulic system have been replaced three times and the failure still persists. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that because the vehicle was repaired by the dealer, the failure would have to occur four or more times before they would consider buying the vehicle back or replacing the vehicle. The failure mileage was 17,796 and current mileage was 18,798.
