Soon as consumer has purchased vehicle she was having problems with battery which caused ABS to shut off. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing do to do anything.
Antilock brake light comes on when raining or car is washed, service dept. Stated that water is entering the brake computer, after it dries out, the light goes out and the antilock brakes start working correctly. Service personel stated that this is not a safety recall issue and I would have to pay the entire cost (app. $480.) to replace the unit. I was under the impression that if the antilock brakes (or airbags) became defective, because it is safety equipment, that the manufacturer must replace or fix at no cost if the defect was not due to a crash.
Brakes are eating up the brake pads and the rotors. Also, there is some knocking noise coming from the vehicle, and when applying the brakes there is a grinding noise.
While driving, experienced brake failure, upon braking, pedal becomes spongey, pedal goes to floor, vehicle pulls to right and steering column vibrates.
