2001 Chrysler Voyager windshield: The windshield cracked in a U-shaped pattern centered over the mid-dash defroster vent. The defroster had been turned on (full fan speed, full temperature setting, defroster only setting) for approximately 10 minutes, the car was up to normal operating temperature. Outside temperature was approximate 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Vehicle had been parked outside all day under these conditions. Later cold soak and warm up under similar conditions, buckling sounds emanated from windshield as defroster was applied and crack lines grew in length. Appears outside layer of windshield assembly cracked while inside layer remained intact. No evidence of an impact either outside or inside. No known impact was experienced.

I bought the above mentioned brand new Chrysler Voyager LX '02 minivan on the christmas eve, 2001. I did not drive muchat at the begining but after 5/6 months when I made a interstate trip to ct, I was shocked and narrowly escaped a serious accident by "an immage of a spinning disclike staff appeared on windshield at passanger side". since then I realized that there was very visible immage/reflection of a spinning disk on wind shield.I immediately contacted DaimlerChrysler and the dealer (major Chrysler Plymouth Jeep Eagle, NY). They inspected and confirmed/certified my claim. Then they decided to replace the windshield. After changing the wind shield the problem still remain the same. The dealer finally said that nothing much they could help. Back and forth for 4 months I just reported diamlerchrysler that the dealer could not help further and now the issue was with them. Either they should resolve the issue with me as soonest or I will take appropriate action. This is seriuos safety hazard, when driving with full permissible speed the immage is damaging. Threrefore, I can not drive the vehicle safely. It is a nightmare for me. That immage detoriate the hazard on sunny day. As I understand, not all vehicles of that batch/model are not with this defect (diamlerchrysler/major mentioned) but this particular vehicle is. It is not fair, after spending over $27000 I have to live with fare and discomfort for this vehicle. It is also noted that the vehicle came with it's regular 1 year full and 3 years limited warranty. I demand full refund or replace with a similar safe vehicle.
