Chrysler has refused to repair my Town & Country because it is out of warranty. I purchased a lifetime, unlimited miles warranty, but the paint and body parts are only warranted for 5 years. Chrysler knew the paint process it was using to paint all of its vehicles was defective and would eventually rust through the paint.
In the research I have conducted it was not only Chrysler that had this problem but other auto manufacturers were using the same paint process that was failing on their brand of cars. I believe it is terribly fraudulent that Chrysler failed to advise its customers that it was having this problem with paint and reduced the term of the warranty for paint and body to five years. Chrysler has flatly refused to make the repairs to the van and the coast to repair the vehicle is approximately $7,000.00.
I am seeking a law firm that would file a class action lawsuit for the millions of auto owners who have been lied to by the salesmen, dealers, service advisers, and corporate staff who knew, or should have known, that they were selling vehicles that would have rusted body parts before the loans for most of them had been paid. What dealership is going to want to take in a vehicle with rust and missing paint and pay book value? Chrysler should not be allowed to rip people off like this and whether a civil or criminal action, the Courts will have to make the owners of the vehicles whole.
