Upon turning on the ignition of my vehicle in the garage, the airbag indicator light went on in the dashboard. While driving whether it be on the hwy/city the light stayed on and wouldn't turn off. This car hasn't been in an accident according to my knowledge. I took it to skiba auto repair and they thought that it was just the wire, which is common for this type of repair. But it wasn't and upon further investigation, they discovered that it was the passenger side air bag which will need to be replaced at a dealer. If the car is involved in a collision the passenger airbag may not inflate resulting in injury or death. There is no current air bag replacement recall for this VIN...
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and country. While driving unknown speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jay malone motors (po box 669, hutchinson, mn 55350, (320) 587-4748) where it was diagnosed that the air bag wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the contact felt that the $500 repair cost was unacceptable for a five year old vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 50,185. Updated 11/21/18
Driver side headrest deployed in 04/2017 while the vehicle was stationary and unoccupied in the driveway. Passenger headrest deployed 06/2018 while driving 35 mph on a paved road. There was no collision.

Air bag warning light stays on. Hood paint bubbling. Stow and go seats shake and vibrate on interstate. Brake rotors still rattle vibrate even after new mopar calipers and rotors replaced.
Within warranty, passenger side takata inflators was replaced no charge. A year later after warranty the drivers side signals a problem on the dashboard. Dealer says is will cost $700 to replace. Reported to the penn safety commission, and to Chrysler. Last year 2017. No one is willing to stand by the product with concern for my safety. I am a 64 year old grandmother. First time Chrysler buyer and the last time too. Tried to stay a dedicated american made buyer, ,,, however, ,, no respect for who I am as a consumer, or the safety of my family.
A couple months ago, the SRS light started coming on intermittently. The light comes on randomly, while driving, while parked, while making left-turns, while braking, while accelerating, etc... because no accident had occurred, I assumed it was faulty connectors that may have gotten wet, so I brought it into an auto shop. They pulled the historical codes, since the light wasnt on at the time, and it says it is a driver side belt tensioner issue. I have 68,000 miles on our van so I had hoped the dealer I bought it from would have some good news (maybe it is covered under warranty) - its not. Reading online, it seems this may be a common issue with some Town and country mini vans, so I figured I should report as well.
Without warning the engine and all electrical components (interior and exterior lighting, radio, wipers, ac-heat/blower, brake assist, steering assist, airbag, speed indicator, etc) all shut off. There are no dash warning lights. The dashboard is completely black for a moment (until restart). This happened while the car was warm (after driving at highway speed for over 15min). This happened while the car was travelling at approximately 35-miles per hour on a city street. I was able to put the car in neutral and immediately restart without stopping. This was an extremely dangerous situation. If I was on a poorly lit road or going around a corner, or at a higher speed, or a less experienced driver, this could easily have been a fatal accident. This was previously reported to Chrysler and thye reported the problem 'fixed' less than 1-year ago (reported to Chrysler corporate in early August 2017 and supposedly fixed by a Chrysler dealership August 11 2017). The problem is not fixed. This happens without warning and very limited (less than once per month). It seems more frequent in cold weather. It has happened at other times, often a minute or so after starting the vehicle, while warming up. It has happened other times while driving (about 4-times since purchase in November 2014), but I do not recall the dates and time.
The airbag problem warning light on my dash is constantly on. I took to the dealer who "fixes" it (twice), but it comes back on within days. I recently talked to 3 other owners of Chrysler and all said they experienced the same issue.
Air bag light came on after 22000 miles. Horn also quit working. Took to dealer and was told clock spring was broken. They want $800 for repair. Other years had this same recall

In addition, a black panel detached from the vehicle independently while being operated at highway speeds. The vehicle was taken to new holland auto group (508 w main St, new holland, pa) where it was diagnosed that the air bag assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer regarding the other failure where it was confirmed that a panel did detach and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired regarding the panel failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,400.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that the wires, wiring harness, and the electronic functions shorted out when the front seats were moved back and forth. The failure of the wires being impacted prevented the seat from moving. In addition, front air bag warning indicators illuminated. The dealer replaced the wires, wiring harness, and additional components four times, but the failure recurred. The contact was unable to move the front driver and passenger seats. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer (steve white motors Inc, 3470 us hwy 70 SE, newton, nc 28658, (828) 324-4410) for an appointment to repair the failure and to replace the parts a fifth time. The manufacturer provided no solution and mentioned that the vehicle should be taken back to the dealer for another repair. In addition, the transmission failed and was replaced. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.
The headrest deployed while parked in my driveway overnight. Its apparent it was defective. I can see broken pieces inside. Chrysler refuses to even look at the car.
Tipm module defective leaving my vehicle stranded had to be towed home with my kids, been to dealership twice, with no luck but a 200 service fee and no correction, I called Chrysler Corp directly and was hung up on sayin they will do nothing when ask to speak to manager. The occasions I went to get gas maybe 4 min filled gas car wouldn't start waited 2 hrs 4 tow truck, other times was in highway car started shaking pulled over again car wouldn't start giving me a lighting bolt error code in dash board I pay 467 a month and spent lets see 200 3 times for towing $189.99 at dealership twice in one [xxx] month and Chrysler knows of this issue in there cars and wont recall it. The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and country. While driving approximately 25 mph, the air bag light illuminated off and on. The failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.
I was driving up hill in the city of muscatine and my automobile started roaring and accelerating near a stop sign and I could not get the auto to stop. I ended up hitting a curb and crashed into two trees and was knocked unconscious. The airbags in the front and the side did not deploy. Both sides of the car were impacted and the front also. The car was still roaring when emergency personal arrived to assist me. This caused me to have seizures and was taken to emergency room and admitted to hospital. The ups driver heard the car roaring and me crashing into the trees.
