The check engine light came on last month and the car lost power, used a lot more gas and sputters. I replaced all six plugs, all six spark modules, and had all six fuel injectors overhauled. The fuel consumption went from 10mpg to 14mpg, but the check engine light came back on, and it started misfiring again. I took it to my mechanic who said the engine was no good and referred me to the top engine rebuilder in Los Angeles, One Stop Engine Rebuilding Machine Shop in Hawthorne who gave me an estimate of $4,500.00 to rebuild my engine to $6,000.00 for a whole new reliable guaranteed for 12 months engine. I am a Disabled senior citizen on a fixed income that took very good care of what I thought would be my retirement vehicle, only to be stuck with what is now a 4,652 pound paperweight.

While shopping for lower estimates, I came across this site that informed me that Chrysler has been aware of this issue since 2012. I was mortified! I had grown to trust Chrysler from childhood. Is there nothing left to believe in?

Check engine light came on and minivan was idling rough. Took it to local mechanic who diagnosed misfire at engine cylinder 3 requiring new spark plugs. Due to location he said labor was more intensive. They replaced coil, spark plugs and plenum gasket for total $469 parts & labor. When we drove van off their lot the engine light came back on and rough idle continued. Took it back to mechanic who found continued low compression (80 lbs) in cylinder 3. They spent a lot of time checking it and researching if there were any recalls or TSBs due to low mileage and excellent condition of our vehicle because low compression didn't make sense. They found Jeep Chrysler TSB 09-002-14A and 09-002-14B on left cylinder head of 2011-2013 vehicles and recommended we contact Jeep Chrysler to request warranty extension on our 2014 model due to leaking cylinder head. We called Chrysler and they told us we'd have to take it to a dealer for diagnosis (makes sense). We then took vehicle to dealer for new diagnosis, and they found: Low compression (80 lbs) at cylinder 3. They said because this is RIGHT cylinder it's not related to the TSB. Dealer found cylinder was leaking because it had a bad lifter arm, and when one lifter arm is leaking all the lifters need to be replaced, as well as rockers, meaning about 4 hours labor. They replaced rockers & lifters (invoice refers to replacement of cylinder head cover, intake plenum gasket, tappet/valve lash, valve arm). We've had it back for one day and engine light is finally off, idling smooth and hoping for no more problems. Extremely frustrated to have an expensive repair like this on a vehicles with 93,100 miles. Before this vehicle we've owned only Hondas and Toyotas for the last 20 years and never needed a major repair outside routine maintenance. Finally decided to give a Chrysler a try and bought this vehicle used in 2017 at about 60,000 miles.

I've owned my 2014 Chrysler Town and Country since 2015 where I purchased from a Dodge Dealer in Phoenix, AZ. I've conducted every oil change timely at Jiffy Lube in Sierra Vista, AZ and was later deployed on military orders to Kaiserslautern, Germany where I continued to change my oil at the MWR Oil Changing Facility on Vogelweh, Germany. This week my check engine light came on the vehicle and I contacted you earlier this week where you referred me to the Fiat Customer Service Site. They referred me to a local Germany Jeep Dealer in Kaiserslautern, Germany where they diagnosed my issue as a bad cylinder head.

The head problem your Chrysler claimed to have fixed in the 2014+ Pentastar V6's. Well the dealer refused to honor my power train warranty because my oil change receipts were not to Fiat standards because the vehicle VIN isn't listed on MWR Oil Changing Receipts or my Jiffy lube receipts just my Full name Vehicle type and license plate. They stated it wasn't good enough. Because it could be for my other 2014 Tan Chrysler Town and Country right?

Chrysler refused a warranty claim on an ISSUE they are aware of. Its even worse when you're denied on a reason NOT RELATED to the Cooling problem which causes the damage to the heads. Oil DOES not cool the heads.. it lubricates the valve train... warping and cracking is heat related.

The public needs to be aware of this issue on ALL Pentastar V6 models and the way Fiat and Chrysler treats their customers. You can't get any more dirty than this. Unacceptable. Complaint also filed with BBB and with Chrysler and Fiat. No response from them.

For the 2nd time (the first being right after I bought the car) - today the check engine light came on. The first time, they checked the system and could find no problem. Said it could be almost anything. Now it is back on. I am meeting with the salesman and the Service Mgr tomorrow.

Update from May 27, 2014: Since my last post the check engine light has come on twice more (total 4). All DTC P0441.. I spoke with Chysler this AM and they gave a case number and will communicate directly with the Service Manager. Two parts on the vapor - Purge Valve assemble and fuel vapor sensor. Today they are running diagnostic test for Chrsyler.
