Fuel pump not working correctly, not shutting off, not starting, I search online and found the exact same problem. Recall R09 / NHTSA 15V-115 for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles but recall is only for Dodge and Jeep. (not Chrysler.)

Kept taking it in probably for almost a year for a diagnostic check because it felt like it had a jerking feeling in the engine. Was told no codes were showing up. Then earlier this year, had to have 2 coils replaced on the engine. On June 1 I took it in because the engine light was on, now it needs camshaft and other stuff done!

problem #11

May 092018

Town & Country

  • 83,000 miles
On May 9th 2018 while driving the car down a two way street not far from a school zone it basically locked but the engine was still running. The vehicle was still in motion but I could not steer because the wheel was locked, I could not stop because the brake did not work, I almost crashed and died. I had to jump a curb to slow the vehicle down and avoid accidents. I was then able to turn off the vehicle. This is extremely dangerous and sounds like defective parts in the vehicle that need to be reported as a recall to the manufacturer. The public needs to know as many lives on the road are at risk and we want answers and the problem resolved by the manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and country. When the ignition was started, the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle was temporarily repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to provide assistance. The failure mileage was 112,553. Updated 8/14/18

P0456 dtc for evaporative emissions system leak. Been fixed twice by replacing control valve and continues to occur. Could lead to increased evap emissions and violate epa regulations. Diagnostic trips at startup while stationary.

Tipm fuel relay went bad not allowing fuel pump to get power and start vehicle. Dealership denied me buying repair kit cbwpr091aa because my vehicle has not been recalled. This is a 16 dollar fix. Instead they tried selling a whole tipm @ $869. Chrysler needs to recall these vehicles and fix this. I'm fortunate enough to have the know how to do it myself and bought the part online and did this myself.

Failed to stay shut off after being parked in the garage, evidently ran out of gas. I opened the garage door the next morning to over 120 degrees, the van steering wheel was to hot to touch, I pushed the start button and the screen said "system is hot". I know I had shut the van off because the radio stops playing when you open the door after turning it off. Now the van won't run. I had it towed to a dealership for repair. It could have burned my home down! after checking complaints online could this be an issue with tipm" is there a recall for this yet"

The engine, without warning, will shut off while driving. This has happened approximately 5 times since October 13, 2014. There is no warning the engine is getting ready to stall, and the only light on the dash that comes on after the stall is the traction control light. As car is coasting under inertia, I am able to shift into neutral and restart the engine with no trouble. There are no error codes stored in the van's computer, per my local Chrysler dealership. The dealership's service department has been unable to duplicate the problem and cannot figure out a solution. I believe this to be a serious safety issue, as power steering and power brakes are lost once the engine stalls/shuts off.

I bought this van about 2 weeks back. The dealer had filled up the gas tank. Yesterday I wanted to refuel and then I realized that this was the most unsafe car I have seen. Anybody could have access to the gas cap. There is no key lock or lever lock to it. Just flip open the cover and unscrew the cap and put anything into the gas tank or draw out the gas if you want to. This car costs about 30,000 and has all sorts of features but I am scared to take it out of my garage and park it anywhere else. I hope the manufacturer does something in regards to the accessibility of the gas cap to ease the mind of the owners of this vehicle. I would not have bought this car if I had noticed this at the time of purchase.

Took delivery of a brand new 2013 Chrysler Town and country touring van with 4 miles on it on Thursday, June 20, 2013. Drove it home approximately 10 miles. Took it out for the first ride on Saturday June 22, 2013 and while driving, engine failed without warning and I lost all power to vehicle. Started it back up and vehicle did this again. Continued to start up and shut down without warning about four times. Called road side assistance and car was towed back to dealership. Service department can not duplicate the problem. Corporate office is of no help. Without fixing the problem, this will happen again. This is a serious problem that can cause a serious or fatal accident and Chrysler has not addressed the problem. They did recall their prior models for this exact problem - recall #72674.the problem is continuing with their newer models but Chrysler does not seem interested. Meanwhile, I have a brand new vehicle sitting at the dealership less than a week old that I am afraid to drive my family in. There have been over 57 reports in the Chrysler Town and country forum of this exact problem - some involving accidents with children as passengers. Chrysler is selling unsafe vehicles putting children at risk of serious harm. I can provide the names of all the people I spoke with at Chrysler - their customer service unit, and their top care unit - along with all those I am dealing with at the dealership. I have a meeting with the dealership Monday, July 1st. However, unless the problem is fixed, this vehicle remains unsafe to drive. I have put Chrysler on notice, the dealership and now you, that this vehicle is unsafe and can cause serious injury to the passengers and other innocent drivers. Please do not wait for a fatality to investigate this.
