I (James L. Harrison) purchased a new 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring on March 15,2013. We have had a problem with the exhaust fumes coming into the cabin area while driving. The first trip to the maintenance department, we were told that the mechanics did not know how to check our van. The second attempt to get the problem fixed at Linwood Motors in Paducah, KY where we bought the vehicle they were able to acknowledge the exhaust smell. They did not know what to do in order to fix the problem. Linwood Motors contacted star Chrysler and are waiting for answer. Star advised Linwood Motors to use special tool 8404 and leak detect, then pressurize the exhaust system. The 2013 Chrysler T & C was in the maintenance shop twice for a complete exhaust system change according to maintenance department. Each time when the vehicle was released back to me we still had a problem with the exhaust leaking into the cabin area of the vehicle. Our fourth trip back to Linwood Motors for the same problem they refused to put the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring van into the shop. The reason they gave me was that they had exhausted their resources for this problem.
My wife (Crystalline F. Harrison) had a stroke on June 20, 2014 and her doctor states that the exhaust fumes coming into the cabin area could have been a large contributing factor for her stroke. Her doctor advised us to park the 2013 Chrysler T & C. The vehicle has been sitting in our yard since November 3, 2014. We have lost the use of this 2013 Chrysler T & C for the last 16 months.
Still waiting on Chrysler to settle with us. I strongly suggest all owners of a 2013 Chrysler T & C have their exhaust system checked for leaks, especially if they smell a peculiar order while driving the vehicle.
