This problem is a common complaint on the 2013 Chrysler 200....but it is exactly the same on my 2013 Town and Country. The vehicle may stall at any time when I let off of the gas. There is one particular location near my son's school where it happens quite often (and it seems this should give a fantastic clue as to what is actually causing the problem).
Certainly this also occurs randomly and might happen at any time I remove my foot from the gas pedal (even at 80MPH on the highway...yes, several times this has happened). As noted on many of the Chrysler 200 complaints....the engine can be started right back up (have to put the vehicle into neutral though...and that's not so easy if you are careening down the highway toward eminent death). But it starts right back up every time. So, about this one location where this problem happens over and over again.... It is on a slight upward incline (maybe 7 degrees???) coming up to a stop sign on a residential street. So from a speed of less than 18mph I take my foot off of the gas as I near the stop sign...and the vehicle stalls. BUT there is one other piece of information which is rather unique...As this roadway I speak of is a narrow, one way, backstreet with cars parked along the right edge...I actually have to drive with my left tires in the left curb area/gutter as I approach the stop sign.
NOW THE POTENTIALLY USEFUL PART...with the noticeable crown of the road...the vehicle is necessarily leaning somewhat to the left (as the right tires are at the top of the crown of the road and the left tires are down in the gutter). Well...can't say for sure that this leftward lean has anything to do with it....but since the stall has occurred at this exact location over 40 times...that makes it an incredibly fortuitous test case. For this website...I have no intention of trying to report this 40 or more times (this has happened more than 40 times at this location, then maybe 25-40 other seemingly random locations, in the 7 years I have owned the vehicle) unless the website has a clone/duplicate complaint button where i can add other reports simply by adjusting the date. But I couldn't possibly remember the exact dates any way...so...There it is...if anyone knows what is happening, please let me know.
