Chrysler T&C had to have new transmission put in right about the 80k-90k mark. NEVER EVER have we replaced a transmission in our cars. We were without the car for a few weeks causing major inconveniences for us as we work an hour from home (the miles are all hwy and we use cruise control all the time if that matters). We have now named the car Christine as we are experiencing major issues with this POC. We WALK by the van with the key in our hand open palm---the windows open, the sliding doors open, the hatch opens, we'll get in and the same thing with happen. We'll be driving and the window will go down. Sometimes it'll lock/unlock itself. Upon occasion when it decides it wants to mess with us.....the entire dashboard panel will flash EVERY SINGLE LIGHT on the panel and the dials will go all the way to the right two or three times. The car is now sometimes turning over and over and over trying to start.
Frankly at this point we are waiting for it to catch fire and lock us in---we LITERALLY have a full size metal hammer in the car to break out a window in the event of an emergency. We've taken it to various shops and they think its an electrical issue---some shops recommend replacing the dashboard panel to the tune of 1300.00--uh no...and aren't sure if that will fix the issue, the Chrysler dealership wants a few hundred to look at it with no guarantee of finding an issue or being able to fix it---uh no. ALL of these things happen in various weather conditions, doesn't matter if it is hot, cold or a beautiful day, raining or dry, ac on or off whatever....it just happens. The van has about 130k miles on it now and the interior trim is falling off, the carpet is pulling out from under the trim by the back hatch where we have put the seats down into the cargo area (only pulled down a few times a year at the most, the driver seat trim where the seat buttons are is cracked, the arm rests have come off in the back seat. We do not abuse our cars----we do not have toddlers---we take care of our autos, regular oil changes, maintenance etc---our buick is approaching 200k and running strong. NOTHING like this--not even close!!
We've dumped the cost of another car into this vehicle and it is still an issue--we are currently looking to get rid of it. We will NEVER EVER NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER CHRYSLER.
Update from Jul 15, 2019 I forgot to mention the passenger side head rest keeps falling off.
