I recently had a problem with my 2012 Town & Country. The transmission gave out while my husband was driving it! He could have had an accident. Thank god that didn't happen! I called the dealership where I bought it, they were taken over by another dealership, and the salesman who sold me the vehicle, no longer works with the new company. The new company rep who answered the phone said, they are a new company and cannot help me! I called another Chrysler dealership and the person I spoke to for a bit explaining my dilemma and asking for help basically told me they cannot help me and it's my problem. IN the mean time I had a vehicle stuck at a garage, and not knowing where else to go or who to take it to, I had that garage replace the transmission since it was dead, no power, kaput! I finally had a thought to contact Mopar, they were nice on the phone, said the transmission is still covered under manufacturers warranty, no my van was at 65800 miles...it was covered up to 69000. I was so happy to hear that! But, my vehicle was already being repaired by the garage, they were licensed, that shouldn't be a problem. But apparently it is. Chrysler refuses to reimburse me. The transmission going out like that is unbelievable and it is a problem that should not be happening. I'm reading all these complaints and cannot believe this! How can a company be allowed to get away with anything like this with all these complaints? There as to be something that can be done to get them and these car dealership who do nothing but rip consumers off to own up, pay up and take care of the problems with their faulty vehicles. I have always dreamed of owning one of these vehicles, I love the Town and Country. I was planning to get a Pacifica...not anymore after this. Chrysler has to answer for this, it is absolutely unethical for them to insist that your vehicle has to go to a dealership. And from what I have read for most of the car owners, these dealerships do shoddy job because no one has yet to have a problem free vehicle after being serviced by these dealerships. Now if it isn't them, then definitely the flaw is with the manufacturer. I am pursuing this reimbursement and I am not stopping until I receive it.
The only thing the Mopar rep, the Chrysler Rep keeps repeating to me is that I should have had it taken care of by a Chrysler dealership! They dont care about anything else. They didnt' call the garage that fixed the problem to hear what his opinion of the problem was. They even hinted at the fact that maybe that wasn't the problem! The dang vehicle stopped in mid gear. There was a hell of a noise that sounded as if the world was coming to an end! There is a problem with these vehicles and something is very wrong with their productions!
