As mentioned on several other posts, while driving my y 2012 Town n Country minivan, as I am accelerating or just driving a steady speed, the van acts like it can't move, its like the engine just starts winding down. Even though I am driving it just starts slowing down. I have to pull over, shift into park, turn the car off for a minute, then restart and then it starts functioning better.

Vehicle wouldn't shift- could only reach speed of 30 mph. Sudden shifting would sometimes occur, jerking the vehicle, but speed would not increase.

My beautiful 2012 Town & Country was purchased new and it was a great van for 3 years. This last year it was shifting hard and had difficulty backing up hills, even slight hills. Finally it stopped shifting and makes a loud clunking noise when you put the van in drive or reverse. The noise is so loud, it's even loud and struggles to pick up speed when you start off, it finally picks up with a clunk after it switches gears. I was hoping it was something minor and hoping it was just the solenoid package. WRONG!!! The transmission is gone!!!

I kept up with all my maintenance with this vehicle and I 've Fords that have lasted way beyond 200k. NHTSA should force Chrysler to fix this problem. Anywhere on the internet you can find over 275 complaints about the same thing with these Chryslers. I'm not paying the estimated $3600 to fix it, I have 14 months left on this piece of junk, I am letting the finance company have it back. It's not worth the headache. Will be writing my next complaint on this car, This is not the only problem with this car. It's a shame that you pay top dollar for a car that's riddled with problems. Please make them recall the transmission and give folks their full refund if they already paid to have it fixed.

A car with ONLY 118,000 kms should not need to have the transmission rebuild, i called chrysler and they just told me 'too bad so sad'. i was 12 days over dealer warranty when this happened, i had plenty of used cars but never ever a transmission issue until well into 280,000 kms. even the manager of the place where i bought the car said that this should not have happened. i will not ever buy a chrysler product again for that bad service of being stranded in the middle of winter, having had so much time wasted with getting something fixed that wasn't supposed to happen in the first place. i never had a 2012 and maybe i would have noticed that the transmission wasn't good but how would you know if you never had one how it's supposed to drive. the dealer was nice enough to give me a rental and money off the repair (otherwise it would have been 1000 more) but chrysler customer service was useless and i will not hold back voicing my opinion (just told someone to stay away from these cars) so it will cost them sales, even if it's just a few, but it's unexeptable to be blown off like this and 'maybe if there's a recall in the future' etc. apparently - so i heard from a good source at Ford, chryler does have issues with warranties and looses more than just my sales.... maybe next time i buy a Ford

Town & Country Limitee 3.6L

Chrysler is hiding a major problem with their transmission to engine software. The van is unsafe to drive when it hesitates and and then jolts forward. This occurs both when the car is at a dead stop or when changing lanes in heavy traffic. The engine jumps to high RPM when you give it a little gas, but then it does not shift to the proper gear unless you let off of the gas pedal completely. I have been trying to resolve this problem with the dealerships for 3 years. I think they don't know how to fix the problem because Chrysler doesn't know. The lurching forward and hesitation between the transmission.and engine rpm is a very serious safety problem!!!!!!.

Update from May 8, 2016: I convinced the service manager to change over the transmission control module. The van shifts properly and it resolves all the problems I was having with the transmission/engine rpm out of wack! My gasooline mileage is back up to 27 to 32 miles a gallon
