My car would not start had to jump it. Thought battery, no took it to mechanic to diagnose the problem fuel tipm, relay switch. Told Chrysler did not recall my vehicle but recalled other vehicles that had the same problem and was built in the same year as mine. Vehicle was stationary the first time. Then it stalled out while I was driving. I was turning onto a city street from my residential complex.

Fuel pump won't turn off after turning engine off. Drains battery completely. Tipm is to blame. Read the other comments or look into the lawsuits. This affects all Chrysler vehicles with the pentastar enigne.

While in motion on a freeway at freeway speeds my van just stalled. The traction control light came on first and then it just stalled. Luckily I was able to pull over safely. I called for a tow because the van would not start after that, it just kept cranking and would not turn over. The repair shop was able to start it the next day and saw a code P061C. Which means it would be 5 different problems. They are keeping it to drive it and hopefully get it to stall again. This is a major safety issue, what if my kids with with me and we crashed. How many complaints will there be before someone steps in to fix this problem. There have numerous complaints for this same issue. Hopefully something is done before someone dies.

Van has had very few problems, I have reached approximately 190000 miles and started having the stalling while driving issues that others have also reported. There are no indicators or pre warnings on dashand actually takes a few seconds to realize the car has shut off. After it happened the first time, my mechanic suggested to start with a full tune up as no codes were coming up. It has happened twice since. It is a terrifying problem, to just have car stop at random with no warning at any speed. 3 times...1st in motion city street going straight, 2nd time in motion city street right after making a turn, 3rd time on highway slowing down to turn. Why is this not part of the recall R09 for durangos/Grand Cherokee" I can no longer trust to have my kids in this car that is designed for families...how do I know the replacement parts will be safe"

Car won't start at times, after awhile finally starts, fuel pump will continuously run after car is off. Gets worse with cold weather. It did it a few times after we bought it but we lived in Florida and didn't happen again. We moved to Tennessee and now its constantly messing up. We replaced the battery and also the electrical body control throttle. Thinking that was it. Later to find out that it maybe the fuel relay. And that Dodge durango and Jeep and another vehicle was recalled for this same issue and yet Chrysler has not recalled the Town and country.

Multiple times the vehicle has stalled and completely shut down while in use. My father had it stall twice while on the freeway at freeway speeds. I have recently had the vehicle stall while idling at stop lights and stop signs when trying to proceed forward. We also had an issue where we took the vehicle out of park and into reverse and using the gas pedal was not propelling the vehicle at a proportional rate - and then when put back in drive the same thing occurred - the vehicle was still running. We had to park, turn it off, and restart the vehicle which cleared the issue in that moment. This is extremely dangerous as the vehicle completely turns off while you are in the middle of using it! we have our babies in these vehicles while we are using them! I have read too many other accounts of this happening to other owners who also are spending thousands of dollars for mechanics to go hunting for solutions - most of which do not work. This is unsafe and needs to be investigated as a larger issue with this vehicle. I'm listing my speed below as 5 mph because that has been a frequent case; however, another driver of the vehicle has experienced this at high speeds previously on my vehicle.

I have been having years of problems with this vehicle. Shortly after purching it in 2015, the climate control unit started (and continues) to turn on randomly whenever it wants to, the A/C stopped working completely, and the blind spot sensors are on 100% of the time. More recently, the vehicle kept having to get jump started every morning for about 2 weeks until finally it wouldn't turn over at all. I have replaced the battery 3 times, the alternator twice (the first time after the vehicle stalling out on a major highway a long way from home), the fuel pump was just replaced, and then I find out from the garage that changed the fuel pump that the tipm needs to be replaced. I am now currently waiting for a new tipm from the dealership. I have been without a vehicle for 3 weeks now as this part is on back order. This vehicle has cost me thousands of dollars in the short time I have owned it and has been very unreliable for me and my family, including 3 children.

All sorts of electrical issues. Passenger side rear door slides open randomly when starting car or unlocking doors. Tailgate opens randomly the same way. Tailgate has opened when car was put in reverse to back up. Passenger rear door no longer locks. If car is locked and alarm enabled, that door will still open and alarm goes off. Fuel pump comes on when car is turned off, draining battery and damaging fuel pump. Fuel pump shut off while driving down road, and also while sitting at red light, causing car to turn off. Replaced oil sensors, fuel pump, crankshaft sensor; had house of voltage and circuit tests done on vehicle trying to determine root of electrical problems. After 9 months of trying to figure out what is wrong with vehicle and pouring money into it, finally discovered that faulty fuel relays in tipm were common in Dodge from 2011-2013. Some models were issued a recall, but not the Chrysler Town and country. Repairing tipms is pricey. Fuel pump issue is now solved but all other electrical issues remain with doors and tailgate. Heater has also randomly turned on. Rear ac/heat has come on while driving down road even though rear system was turned off.

Our vehicle will randomly turn off while driving. This has been happening for over a year. We took our vehicle into the dealership. They looked for codes in the computer to help fix the problem but they said no codes were generated so there was nothing they could do. They suggested, when it happens again, come back to the dealership immediately so they can look for codes. We did this and they found nothing. Their next suggestion was to leave the vehicle with them for a couple of weeks so they could drive it and try to see if it would happen while they have it. We did that and they found nothing. Their last suggestion was to wait for it to get worse. There is the problem. They are asking us to drive a vehicle that we know shuts down while driving. It has happened while driving on the highway, it has happened while driving on a busy street during rush hour. Fortunately, we were able to pull over safely to restart the car. The concern is this situation is so random it may happen when we can't pull over safely and us or somebody else gets hurt. We have looked online and have found that others have experienced similar situations. It is awful that nobody has a way to fix this family vehicle until it gets worse. We feel we are forced now to get rid of this vehicle.

2018 my vehicle started having a problem where I would turn the key and it would just sit there turning over turning over and turning over without me having to hold the key down and it wouldn't actually start and I was told to wait 30 seconds and start it, it would work but then it stopped happening and was fine. Now last week my van started doing it again. I was told again to turn the key without starting it wait 30 seconds and then try to start it it would start after the 4 or 5th try. And after a couple of tries it would start but then die. Then the next day I tried 12 different times doing this and my van would not start. I had to have it towed to a garage and he hooked it up to two different computers he said he's 99.9% positive that the tipm is bad. He looked up for recalls for the tipm under Chrysler and it only shows that there was recalls on Jeep Grand Cherokee some Wrangler Dodge durangos and Dodge Grand Caravan which I do know that the Caravan and the Town and country are almost the same I also have seen numerous reports of other people having the same exact problem as I've been having I would like to know why there is not a recall on the Chrysler Town & Country I was told this part will cost me $1,500 to have it fixed.

The tpim is malfunctioning which is not allowing my fuel pump to work. The car would turn over but not start until I tried several times. Now it does not work at all and had to be towed. My mechanic I'm not able to fix this because the part is back ordered including a part to bypass the issue.

For the last 18 months I have had to take out my battery every time I turn off my vehicle in order to prevent the battery from dying because the fuel pump relay keeps running when I turn of the car. As a result of the fuel pump relay system not ever turning off when I turn the key to turn the car off, my battery is drained within minutes and the car fails to start until I am able to wait for the tow service to arrive and jumpstart my car. The car also about a week ago just shut off while I was still driving it. This is very concerning for me. I have 2 young children diagnosed with autism and both have history of seizures and this car is unreliable. I have paid thousands of dollars to repair battery and have this car towed until finally learning what the true problem with the vehicle has been.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town and country. After the vehicle was turned off, the battery power drained and the vehicle could not be restarted. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and alternator, but the failure continued. It was later determined that the fuel pump relay remained activated even though the vehicle was turned off and the ignition key was removed from the ignition switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer (East Tennessee Dodge, 2774 N. main St, crossville, tn) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

Vehicle wont start until multiple attempts, will stall while driving and fuel pump will continue to deun when the vehicle is shutoff until battery is drained. This has continued to happen daily for a few weeks. Car has died on multiple while driving on busy streets making it impossible to steer. Wont start without multiple attempts in the morning on my way to work and I between short stops after being driven for awhile. Fuel pump will intermittently continue to run after car is off and key is removed both short and long trips, requiring battery cable to be removed. On a number of occassions I have not realized it was running until coming back to vehicle and hearing it, only to find that it has drained the battery to the point that it will not start.

Dealer identified as failed fuel pump relay integrated in total integrated power module (tipm) which is the problem recalled in R09/NHTSA 15V-115 the 2012/2013 durango and Grand Cherokee series and made by same manufacturer. This can cause vehicle to stall while driving or have a non start situation as power is not properly delivered to the fuel pump due to relay failure. This failure occurred in the 2012 Town & Country model which is not covered under the recall for the same year.
