Spent almost $500 this weekend replacing the battery and alternator in my 2012 T&C. Being that its only 3 years old, I certainly didn't expect this to malfunction so soon. It wasn't covered under warranty anymore so I had to deal with it. My father and I pulled it apart and replaced it. Its still not working. The Alternator is now throwing out more voltage than my (new) battery can handle and now we are back to scratching our heads.

Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. I certainly don't mind putting in the work I just need to know what to do next before I end up in the hole a grand. :(

Many thanks!

My alternator went out on a 4 lane highway while we were on vacation and left my wife 4 kids and I on the side of the highway. Had it towed and fixed and the dealership said they won't cover it. Chrysler won't stand behind their vehicles. They already have a recall on some alternators. So as a Disabled Veteran I will make sure everyone will know about this. The bumper to bumper they said we had when we left, was a bunch of bull. 3 year old vehicle and the alternator went.
