No engine light came on, had taken it to be coded with no results. The van was not wanting to start and key was not found. Had the alternator tested, was told I needed to drive around more as the battery was too low to test it? Drove to dealership before it completely died. Alternator was replaced which fried the mother board. Now I have more issues!
Ok so this really bad. Having the alternator go out caused the computer to get fried. So not only did I have to replace the alternator I had to dish out $1200.00 on the computer alone. Seriously who at Chrysler engineered this stupid car!!!! STAY AWAY FROM CHRYSLER!!!!
While I was driving the battery light came on. Had the battery tested, battery came back good. On my way home all the lights on my dash came on and my Van became very unstable. I pulled off of the highway to a main road and my Van died. Took it to a shop they they said it was a bad alternator, then PCM, after replacing both parts and battery they called and said it will still not hold a charge and would need to go to the dealer. So not only was I in danger of my Van shutting off on the Highway! There seems to be some other major issue going on! Chrysler needs to step up! Last Chrysler Vehicle I will EVER buy again. They have been nothing but problems and money suckers for the past 10 years! They are just out right dangerous to have your little ones in too! Shame!
Left out in the cold waiting for a tow truck. Then the dealer had my van for a week trying to figure out what was wrong with charging system. They finally spoke to factory and were told to replace alternator. That new alternator quit working at 91000 km and left me stranded in Cedar City Utah for 2 days waiting again for another alternator, not to mention 2 nights of hotels and meals. Since the first incident I have had all sorts of ghost happenings, such as wipers turning on by them self, or going from intermittent to full speed when driving over rumble strips with left front tires( this I did purposely many times to show other people). I now carry a spare rebuilt alternator with me.
