2nd notice about the "rear quarter vent window switch". neuwirth Chrysler dealership here in wilmington said that they would order the replacements 6-8 months ago. Never heard from them. Called neuwirth today when we received this second notice ( 01/08/15 ), and was told by "[xxx]" that the "parts are not available." She said, "I'll put you on our list and call when we can get you in."...driver door fire without warning... sounds serious to me. How about some help! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the contact smelled a burning odor and noticed heavy smoke emitting from the front driver's side door control panel. The vehicle was moved to the shoulder where the engine was turned off. The window control switch wires were disabled and permanently removed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and the wire harness and window control switch were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 44,750.
