My wife's van had her headlights flicker the other day when I was driving. I didn't think much of it as it was rainy and I assumed it was trying to "decide" if it was dark enough to turn on or bright enough to turn off.

However, that night on her way home from work, she realized that only the fog lights were on. It was about this time that she got pulled over. The cop was nice enough to escort her home but no amount of restarting the van or adjusting the light selections (Auto, Headlights, Parking, Off) seemed to fix it.

We have not had it fixed yet but not looking forward to it. Electrical problems can be so finicky.

Update from Dec 20, 2021: The faulty lights in my wife's van struck again! Thankfully, it wasn't while we're driving (noticed it when I went to prewarm it for her) but it's been 2 days now that they haven't been working (except for one fog light).

I am thinking I might have to hardwire the headlights to a switch in the dash cause having them not work is not an option and if the dealer can offer solutions that are spendy while not actually fixing the issue, why would I even bring it in?

Driving down I-95 at night, at 70 mph with my family and my headlights goes out in my 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. * SCARY!! After a pull over/stop messing with the switches, I had to drive the rest of the way with fog lights, hazard flashing and the lights of other vehicles going my way. Next day checked fuses and switches lights were fine.

Until here recently, my headlights are flashing again until they off and stay off. I was led to the headlight switch, replaced that still the same. My 2010 Town and Country has not had any light for the past three days. CHRYSLER!!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! RECALL PLEASE!!

PLEASE! Everyone who had this issue with headlight flickering and shutting off while driving, REPORT THIS to customer service 1(800)423-6343. If enough of us report this issue and bring it to their attention, it will be a recall or warranty extension! You could be reimbursed for repairs already made! I called and reported it, the lady told me this was the second call in a row on the same issue. She said people just need to report it.

This is the third time my headlights have gone out without any prior symptoms. the headlights will flicker briefly and then go out (includes hi-beams). No amount of turning car on and off corrects the problem nor switching from Auto to Manual lights corrects either. Only the Headlights are affected as the fog and tail lights function properly. If I let the van sit for a day, the headlight function will return but I have had three incidents now and there doesn't seem to be a weather related reason (heavy rain, moisture) that causes this problem. I have read on many boards that the problem is caused by a faulty TIPM and that Chrysler has had many complaints in a number of models using this model of TIPM.

This extremely dangerous situation which can leave one stranded or totally without forward illumination. Thankfully I have fog lights which at least allows other vehicles to see me.

Bought vehicle used. Have had issues with the lights not coming on or staying on initially. took to dealership and they said they couldn't find anything. On 2/28/17 driving home in the dark the lights just went off for no reason. juggled the switch and they came on about a minute later. Stayed on for maybe a mile and went out a second time. Not happy. The road we were on is in the country so there are no street lights. No one would have known we were on the road.

SAFETY ISSUE AND VERY DANGEROUS. There should be a recall done on these cars before someone ended up seriously hurt or dead. I almost crashed when this happened to me on a curvy road with no lights on it, then all of a sudden my lights went out on my van it was very scary. they would start to work again and then off again. It's like it is possessed it's not funny anymore something needs to be done to fix this problems a lot of people are having with these cars. there is a defect in the system somewhere.

headlight flash a few times and then turn off and won't go back on, this is getting annoying, it has happened a few times now since my first complaint on this matter. This is a SAFETY ISSUE and very DANGEROUS to be driving and then loss your lights out of no where.

the lights on my 2010 Chrysler Town and Country just started acting funky one day they went on then when I was driving down the road on a dark curvy road they went off on there own and wouldn't turn back on. I stopped and turned to car back off and on hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't . I had to have it towed home then the started to work again the next day, and worked for months and would do it again. It's a dangerous situation to be driving and not know if your lights will work or not when you are out at night. There should be a recall on this, I have read many of people have had the same problem ...and you are luck so far no one has gotten killed or hurt. They need to find and fix the problem, before they get sued or someone dies ..

One night out of no where, with no warning, both headlights went out while I was driving. Pulled over, turned switch off & on, nothing. Brights wouldn't work either. Only the fog lamps. Turned car off, waited 10 minutes, turned car on, but lights didn't come back on. Had to drive home in the dark, got pulled over by the police! Luckily had a really nice officer who believed me that this JUST happened & I got off with a warning.

It is now 2 weeks later and the headlights sometimes work, and sometimes don't. We checked the fuse & relays and they are not blown. This keeps happening intermittently, with no other electrical issues (so far!)

For the last year I have been having headlight problems. For example tonight when I started the car the headlights flashed several times and would not stay on. I was forced to drive about five miles to return home in the dark, relying on my flashers. This is probably the 6th time this has happened in the last 12 months. I have brought the car into the dealership twice, paid my $100 diagnosis fee and was told that since they can not duplicate the problem they can not fix it. I just tried the car after it sat for about 20 minutes and the lights seem to be working now. Having your headlights go out while you are driving at night is a serious matter.

While driving at night the head lights went off. Tried turning on and off and nothing. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Sometimes just the high beam works. Thought that maybe it is the switch but the parking lights and fog lights still work. Checked electrical wiring for a loose wire and could not find anything. Going to have to go to dealer but have read other complaints with the exact same problem and I am sure I am not going to like their answer. There should be a recall as this is a serious safety issue and it looks like quite a few other people have the same problem.

Driving home on the freeway at night 90 miles from my house and the headlights go out and wont come back on. I pull over, disconnect the battery and after a few minutes I reconnect the battery. Headlights work for a few miles and them the same thing happens. I had the pleasure of driving home late at night using only fog lights...

Headlights went out while driving 55mpg at nite. They flashed 3-4 times and then all I had were fog lights. After stopping and turning off car for 10 minutes, I was able to regain headlights. Again after 10 minutes of travel they repeated same issue and went out again.

Service garage was advised by Chrysler dealer that it was probably a dimmer switch issue. Dimmer switch was replaced. On the way home low beams went out and all I had were high beams for 45 miles to home at dusk. Now it is repeating same pattern as first issue.

This is a very serious issue and needs to be addressed by Chrysler.

The problem is intermittent so the dealer can't fix. I've read about other people having same complaint. Some say it's the light switch, others say it might be the TIPM (total integrated power module). Read that estimated cost of TIPM replacement exceeds $850.00. No guarantee it will solve problem. Very frustrated. Don't like driving at night for fear that lights will stop working. Use fog lights to let others see me and be able to see road somewhat when they do fail to illuminate.

My Chrysler is my only vehicle. Most importantly it is a handicap vehicle for my 14 yr old daughter who was born a paraplegic. I take her to and from school. I leave at 6:45 in the morning and it is just barely light enough to drive without headlights, fog lights only. It's dangerous for me and my child as well as the other drivers on the road. The time is going to change soon and there will be no way I can get her to school on time safely because it will be just too dark. She will have to be tardy until I can get this fixed. I hope I can get the school to understand otherwise I risk truancy and therefore jail time. I also have to make sure I'm back home before the sun sets which limits outings for sure.

Here is what my lights do: I start my engine and my lights blink or flash on and off 5 times and then they stay off. This has been going on for a month now. Approximately a week ago my headlights worked normally for 4 days. It was wonderful. I thought maybe the problem had resolved itself. No such luck. After that 4 day span they started doing the 5 blinks thing again. I took it to a Chrysler dealership and they diagnosed what I already knew through Googling the problem myself. Informed me that there are 75 TIPM's on backorder and they have no idea when I will get one. Cost will be $790, 2 hours to fix and I'm not sure if that includes cost of labor. I am frustrated beyond words.

Chrysler needs to make this right and fast. Have read other peoples problems with the TIPM and really concerns me that some of the issues they are dealing with could also begin happening to me on top of the headlight issue if I can't get this thing replaced promptly. STEP UP CHRYSLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My situation does not allow for me to just run out and get a rental until this is resolved. Where am I going to rent a handicap van? YOU REALLY NEED TO TAKE THIS MORE SERIOUSLY CHRYSLER AND MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO INVEST IN YOUR VEHICLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS STRESSFUL BEYOND WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
