Over the last year our van has randomly stalled out while driving but lucky it happened on side roads where we could pull over and then restart it. We took it to a local shop and they could not duplicate the problem but told us there was a recall but our particular VIN was not part of it. Then itt didn't happen again for several months but it was also covid time so we were not traveling near as much. Then this week it happened to me and I was able to pull over, turn the car off and restart it, regaining all functions. Then yesterday I was driving with my 4 children during rush hour traffic going 40 mph on a very busy 4 lane road when my traction control light came on (like it does everytime this happens) and I lost power to the engine, power breaks, and power steering. I had no way to move my car off the road to a safe spot and here I was stuck in the middle of a very busy road scared to death. This time my car would not turn back on like it had in the past. That was the scariest day of my entire life as I watched cars swerve to avoiding hitting us with my precious cargo inside. Thank god a police offer got to us before the worst could happen. Chrysler is lucky because if something would have happened they would have had the largest lawsuit on their hands since they denied my recall request. Now my car is sitting at the shop waiting for them to open back up in 2 days. I am still shaking and having nightmares of what could have happened to my life yesterday. Chrysler needs to address this problem now!!!
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled with the traction control warning light illuminated. My vehicle shutsdown intermittently right after starting it either remotely or via the key. This tends to happen after the vehicle sits for a bit. The traction control light comes on and the car shuts down - no power steering etc. I just bought this vehicle and have not replaced anything yet. A google search indicates this is a common issue. Any help or direction to resolve the issue would help.
My wife was driving our 2010 Town and country on 10/12/2020 when the van suddenly died and as a result loss of power steering and brakes. She was able to put van in neutral, restart the van, and regain power steering and brakes. This is the sixth or seventh time this has happened so she knows this is a possibility and is prepared but this ridiculous to have so many documented instances and still no recall. Van has approximately 125,000 miles.
I was driving yesterday with my 3 kids and the van shutdown without warning at highway speeds. It became a very dangerous event since we did not have breaking and very difficult to steer. After, getting to the shoulder, the vehicle would not start again, although it had a full tank of fuel. The key gets stuck in the on position. And it lock the starter in the ignition phase as if I was holding the key on after the car starts. I cycled the key and noticed that if I held it right, it would not lock the starter in the starting position. However, it would not turn on. I saw there were recalls on this vehicle and one about the ignition.

Entire car shut down while in motion, ran off road, no brake control, by the grace of god, I nor anyone else was killed or seriously injured. The van shuts down during speeds between 35-40 mph. There are no warning or check engine lights, just the traction light comes on and the RPM gauge goes to zero. When the engine shut down there is no power steering or power brakes. Today when the van shut off I was able to shift the vehicle into neutral, and start it, but 20 seconds later it shut down again. I attempted one more time and it started. I quickly shifted into drive to avoid being struck by another vehicle. The van has 165,000 miles. This started happening about 2 weeks ago and is intermittent. My wife and kids aren't able to drive this van due to this safety issue.
The vehicle's engine stopped running six different times since December 11, 2019 while driving between 25 to 40 mph. All of the power, engine, etc. Just quit and I coasted to the side of the road. Put it in park, turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle with no problem. The last two days, the vehicle has stalled twice. The traction control light has also come on. We have taken it to Firestone who ran a diagnostic on it and could not find the problem. This is a very dangerous condition and appears that there are numerous individuals that have had the same problem. We have attached the invoice from Firestone where they ran the diagnostic. The consumer has stated that transmission was replaced in July 2017.the consumer also stated that since December 2019, the vehicle has stalled 6 more times.

While driving on a flat straight road around 35-45 mph vehicle (about 80K miles) lost all power and steering. Was lucky to get on the shoulder and restart the car. This has happened twice in the last month. All other recalls and repairs are up to date.
The van just at its own choice cuts off, you can be going 5 mph or 70mph. There is no warning, then you lose steering and braking with the engine off. After you get it stopped it starts right back up but you don't know for how long before it does it again. There is a recall on the igniti0N box but not for my VIN number, Chrysler needs to expand the years on that recall before someone gets hurt badly or killed...

While driving, engine turns off randomly and renders the power steering and power brakes to lose their function as well. This has made driving the vehicle extremely dangerous because it happens randomly and without warning and has caused some close calls on the road, which is what prompted me to discontinue driving the van and taking it to the dealership. There are no open recalls for my vehicle, however, safety recall R03 describes exactly what is happening to my van and includes vehicles in model year 2010.
