Same story as other, driving down the road, car stalls for no reason. No power brake or power at all. Pull over to side of road wait a minute or two turns back on. No codes in system. Dealership does not have a clue. Just want it to stop and be safe. It’s been great so far.

Our 2010 Town & Country has major electrical issues intermittently. There is no pattern to it and no mechanic has been able to reproduce, identify, or suggest a fix for the problem. Dash lights randomly come on and off, headlights dim and flicker randomly, the interior lights and radio dim and lose enough power to go off completely, and the vehicle will occasionally lose complete power and shut down while driving. This has put my family in harm's way and in a great deal of danger multiple times.

This has been a known problem with CJD products in the past, causing some recalls, but not on all vehicles. This is a serious problem to which there is no known repair. My dilemma is that I can't get it fixed without spending thousands of dollars hoping the next repair is the lucky one, I can't sell or trade it in with a good conscience knowing that it will just be passed on to another unfortunate family who will themselves be placed at risk. Chrysler has done nothing about this despite thousands of documented cases and complaints.

This is Crazy...my 2010 Town and Country turns off while I am driving. after the 5th time and recall completed I e-mailed the CEO of Chrysler, a gentleman named Marvin contacted me. First, he suggested that I purchase a new car..UM.. NO!! DON'T THINK SO...I explained the problem and he thought I should take it to the dealer to get the recall re-done, off to the dealership I went. Advised the dealership of the continued problem, they did a diagnostic on the electrical and did not find a problem, and said if I wanted the recall done again, I would have to pay for it. I told them that I only drive the car about 1 mile a day because I don't want my family KILLED in this vehicle. The dealership wan't us to video when the car turns off. Please help me, I don't know what to do with the car!!

This is the third year in a row that I have had problems with my van stalling. It normally happens within the first couple of miles of driving regardless of how long the car has warmed up. The car stalls, the steering locks up, and occasionally the antilock brake light illuminates on the dashboard. The dealership has not been able to pinpoint the cause the past two years. The problem is getting significantly worse with the car repeatedly stalling, stalling as I am traveling straight, going into a turn, ready to pull into an intersection. I am fearful that this is going to cause an accident.

After 4 days in the shop and the replacement of many parts, the van was returned. Four days later the problem started again.

Update from Apr 26, 2017: Dealer replaced the Powertrain Control Module, Front Outer Tie Rods, Clock Spring Steering Angle Sensor, Spark Plugs and related gaskets, performed fuel injection service and combustion chamber cleaning, replaced battery, replaced burnt out rear marker bulbs, aligned wheels (not requested).

Apparently every other 2010 Chrysler Town and Country has been recalled except for my VIN model, all for the same problem. Since October (now February) the car randomly stalls within the first 5 to 10 minutes of operating, disabling the power steering and power brakes. This happens on the road while in traffic. The first few times my wife let car roll to stop, put in park, and restarted it (it restarts right away). The next couple of times she slipped it into neutral and restarted it while rolling.

Finally, when it happened on a freeway on-ramp my wife decided she will no longer drive the car because of the stalling and for her own safety. I have been driving it since, and have had it happen to me as well.

It has been to a local garage, and firestone garage, and to the Chrysler dealership where we bought it. When there is a check engine light the code has to do with the EGR system but the gas cap is tight and the smoke test has been run and no leaks found.

Most of the time when the car stalls there is no check engine light. Occasionally the traction light comes on as it stalls, but not always.

Reading online, the 2010 Town and Country has had several recalls for electrical (ignition, etc) causing this stalling and of course we all know about what happened with the GM ignition switch problem!

I am frustrated taking the car to the dealership, leaving it there a day or two for them to not get it to stall for them and returning it to me with the same problem. The car is a safety hazard to the driver who cannot steer or brake, and to those also on the road around them, while it stalls.
