My van is 5 years old and for the first three years, it was kept in a garage, for the last two it was under a carport. In june I moved again (military family) and van has been parked outside and began to leak through the sunroof. The first time, I assumed perhaps I didn't close it all the way. The second time I knew I had closed it and it was even worse. Water was pouring down from the roof on the passenger side, which is a problem when you have electronics in both your headliner for sunroof and other miscellaneous accessories and have electronic and heated seats (I'm so glad I opted for the Mopar floor liners and saved most of the carpet and leather seats which saved the upholstery)
Contacted three dealers in the area and two never even returned my call, third very rudely stated that under no circumstances is a leak covered under a warranty and that the guy they have that fixes them is on an extended vacation (must be because he's made so much money off of Jeep/Chrysler vehicles that leak!!!) I researched the problem on my own and discovered that it was likely a clogged drain, sure enough I was able to blow some compressed air (very carefully!) into the front drain holes and a ton of debris and water came flying out. Testing afterwards shows it's not currently leaking, will have to wait for the next rain to see if it does again. Now I get fight with Chrysler to start replacing my electronics!
