transmission slips or jerks

I reported this issue the year before 2015. Of course Major World Chryler said then there was no problem. Friday 12/16/16 at 4:10p the rep Mr Frank send when they finish Diagnosing my seat issue they'll look into transmission.

One the following tues 12/20/16, i was told it was a leaky pan. Again i said fix it. Today 12/22/16 10:47a awaiting the call for completion and pick up. My car has been in that garage since 12/14/2016. May a someone out there can give me a clue

The van stopped on us a couple of times. A trust worthy mechanic told me my transmission was fine and something else is causing the van not to shift. My Mechanic (cousin) replaced a filter. Van drove for a couple more weeks and then stalled again. I finally took it to a shop where I was told my transmission is shot and would cost me $2,200+ to fix. I couldn't afford it and towed it back home. My mechanic cousin has spent some time on my van. He took out the automatic door locks fuse and the van shifted to the 2 and 3 gears. He put the fuse back and the van would not shift. He says this is not a transmission problem, but an electrical issue.

The check engine light comes on and off. I mainly drive this and told hubby I feel like the transmission is dragging. If I push the gas down the check engine light comes on, the rpms shoot up, and the van won't go over 45-50 mph. If I stop the van, turn it on and off a few times, it miraculously works again like normal.

I was finally able to get to the mechanics while the light was on and code P0883 Transmission Control Module- Power Input High is what came up. Told it was a fix only the dealership can do. We live pretty far from the dealership and when I called to tell them this code came up, I still have to pay a 90$ diagnostic for them to tell me what's wrong.

I'm frustrated because 'things' keep going wrong on this vehicle and it's really disappointing. I had a 1998 model which we ran into the ground and the most expensive repair it needed in the all the years we had it was a $400 electrical control panel something or other. This model has been waaaayyy more expensive to repair and maintain and we have only had it 4 yrs.

The transmission has a really rough shift from first and second gear. I took the van to several dealers and did not get a solution, one dealer actually overhauled the transmission which cost me $2,100 and the problem still existed. The dealer then told me that Chrysler does not have a fix as yet for the rough shifting and classified the problem as "a characteristic of the van", so I spent $2,100 and nothing got fixed. I was also told maybe a software update will be available soon which may fix the problem. If the rough shifting continues it will damage my engine mounts once again, I just changed all four mounts about a month ago.

How can manufacturers get away with this type of injustice?

Our transmission is still the same. Dealers only try to set the linkage or whatever. But it continues to this day. We have been told by others who have owned this type of vehicle that they had their transmission replaced. Not Good.
