The Chrysler town and country had a six speed transmission, although I thought I was ok as far as that went it was starting to slip when going from 2nd gear into third gear, was told $3000 to fix. This would have been the third transmission. I know Chrysler has always had weak transmissions, but this is really horrid, now I know why someone traded it in.
Myself and 2 friends went to an event an hour away. We were almost back to our meeting place on the interstate when it all of the sudden sounded like something was dragging. I didn't see anything I ran over. When I came to a stop it wasn't coasting when I let my foot off the brake. I pushed the gas and nothing happened. I put it in park and back to drive and then the car jerked and felt like I ran over something. We are so lucky that we made it at least to our meeting point.
I can't belive this 3 year old car can't handle a trip 1 hour away and not be dependable. This is one of MANY problems we have had. I want to enter the VIN in this form but I CAN"T because the vehicle couldn't be driven home. I will update on how they handle repairs.
The new town and country limited 2008-2010 have a serious problem with their transmissions. My transmission suddenly have a strange noise while the minivan was parked, I take it to the dealer and they told me that my minivan needs a new transmission.
I don't understand why Chrysler don't accept that they build cheap cars.
