This vehicle gave us so many problems. After a headgasket at 100k and electrical issues everywhere, the whole engine eventually locked up at 154k miles after the oil pan leaked on the highway. Wouldn't recommend these to anyone.
Bought 2008 Chrysler town and country touring edition, It had a lot of nice features, It rode better than other vans they had available. Bought used. Within a week, I noticed the temperature gauge fluttering up and down. Wondered why I could hear something boil. I checked the radiator cap and replaced it anyway to make sure, added coolant. Hose was hard as a rock within 5 minutes of it running, hose would go soft within 5 minutes of engine shutdown, took van back where I bought it and they checked it, said everything is normal and I can't com pare how the cooling system worked compared to my car. They told me it had a valve in it that let the pressure off. I knew this was a horrible answer. A few months after driving it, a "Y" connector blew apart, they wanted over $100 just for the "Y" connector. I bought a part and it fixed it better than the original. I suspected the head gasket was bad, stopped by a very reputable shop and they told me that it is indeed a head gasket problem and would be quite expensive to fix, was told to drive it since I didn't see anything in the oil or steam coming from the tailpipe, I never got the chance to have it repaired if I wanted to.
Okay, the gasket, I was told ABOUT 2009, (it is on the paperwork at dealership not positive of the date) that the gasket needs to be replaced. I was also told that it was under warranty and to just wait until it goes and then replace it.
Well, over the years, my vehicle seems to burn a lot of oil, wonder why??? Oil is not cheap since it is synthetic!!!!! When I was in there not long ago, I wanted this fixed and inquired about it and was told it is not covered by the warranty and then was shown the paperwork saying so.
However, I did look at the paper to begin with. I just paid for the work I had done and didn't have time to do the gasket that day and they made it seem like it was no big deal. I figured it would go out or I would just fix at another time. Now it is going to cost me! This is not right!
