Was driving down the road and the horn started blowing and the wind shield wipers went full speed and the motor turned off in the middle of the highway. They told me it was the tipm was bad and they have a ton of these vehicles with this problem! it is a very expensive fix and should be a recall item due to it being a safety problem! the vehicle shuts down and you loose all power! I have seen online other issues where the air bags actually deployed. I am so scared to drive this vehicle because I don't know if it will malfunction again!! it has happen at least 3 times already.
The engine shuts down while the vehicle is in motion. This has happened 3 times at less than 15 mph on my private road and 1 time at ~30 mph on a public road through town. I have only owned this vehicle a couple of months and the previous owner purchased the vehicle from a dealer in January only owned the vehicle
Headlights turn on momentarily and then turn off.. they flicker. Vehicle can be stationary.or while driving. If driving cannot always be sure the headlight have come or just the fog lights. Fog lights remain on headlights are questionable after turning them on from head lamp switch.
Windshield wipers, horn, washer fluid, and lights inside and outside of vehicle randomly go off and wont stop unless the battery is disconnected.this will also cause the car to start on its own and wont turn off if already running. Took to a mechanic and they said it was the clock spring but it only lasted for a couple of months and is now doing the same thing. Check engine light came on and is showing again a problem with the ECM. I have looked online and there are hundreds of other people reporting the same problem with no explanation from Chrysler and no recall issued.
I started my vehicle in a parking lot and the wipers, seat belt alarm and lights came on and would not turn off and the windows would not operate. I turned off the car and started it again. I began driving and the same thing happened. I pulled over and turned the car off and started it again and this time it stopped. I continued on to my destination and then went home. The next day, I was running an errand on my lunch break and it happened again. I returned to work and when I left for the day, I had another errand to run and half way to my destination, it happened again! I had to drive 20 miles home with the wipers and alarms going and the windows down because the power was not functioning.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. While driving approximately 60 mph, the windshield wipers, headlamps, and passenger doors activated independently. The contact had to restart the vehicle in order for it to operate normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the intelligent power module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. Updated 08/31/17
I was driving with the air conditioning on & suddenly stinky smoke started coming out of the vents. I turned the air off & then back on & it felt like it was blowing heat & the hole dash started feeling extremely hot then I could see fire coming up through the air vents. I pulled over called 911 but they arrived to late & my van was a total loss.
Car gets totally possessed. It cuts off in the of driving one time on the highway. The lights wipers and horn goes on by itself and doesnt stop until the battery is disconnected. I came out the store and my wipers and horn was going off the keys were in my hand. While pumping gas the radio started playing and wipers going off. The keys were in my hand the doors unlock by themselves one they opened. While driving uphill. The car won't off when the key comes out. In the park and off position sometimes it doesn't start at all.
My Chrysler Town and country had performed the recall on the ignition switch however my van still shuts down while driving. At first it started upon morning when first starting out the day, but now it shuts off even after 45 minutes of driving the vehicle causing me to loose control of the steering and having to be cautious so that I wont be rear ended or worse. I have taking it in to be diagnosed but the technicians after having the van hooked up to their diagnostic machine are still unable to see anything wrong. No error codes are showing. Also now, while parked and the engine off with no keys... my doors will just open by themselves or automatically lock. It did it yesterday morning however my car was running, the van locked sounding my alarm that sounded as if I had pressed the key to lock. I hope that someone can call or email me to give an explanation what could be the problem as well as how I can resolve this problem,
Takata recall im not sure if it has to do with other service recalls that were performed earlier or what. Every since I had the recalls fixed ive had trouble with my lights flashing, lights on dash flash on and off, cant roll up or down windows, air or heat doesnt work when this happens, its like it just goes crazy. It does it more driving, but does it sitting still as well. Not sure of an exact date when all this started but it just continues to get worse and I had to stop driving it. Not sure if its electrical, computer, or what. I do have video of it...
The electrical wires get caught in the door. While driving down the highway and city street, my windshield wipers came on, and all lights illuminated on my dash, and there was nothing that I could do to stop it. Later on, I determined that when the wires touched against something in the door, it would cause this reaction.
Clockspring causing electrical malfunction very similar to that in which was a recall on this same vehicles just a few years prior. Seat belt light flashes and dings even when seatbelts are locked while driving. ABS lights come on periodically while driving, vehicle gear shift locks while vehicle is in park running causing vehicle to have to be shut off before it will release. Cruise control malfunctions while driving. Done research to other owners of this vehicle style and others have complained of similar findings, however seems noone has contacted you yet. When these problems started they have been an ongoing issue daily.
I received a safety recall on the ignition switch around April 2015. We made a booking at the local dealership, dick meyers Dodge in harrisonburg va. I've made repeated inquiries for getting the work done, but every time get the same answer in that Chrysler is slow in getting them the supply of replacement ignition switches. It's coming up on 2 years since making the booking and still no results. This seems ridiculous in that it is taking so long and there's still no anticipated delivery date.
While driving the vehicle the temperature, miles to the gallon, direction the car is facing goes dark. Then the warning lights, gas gauge, tachometer, speed flash on & off and the vehicle will try to stall or turn off. While the warning lights are flashing the vehicle feels like it is cutting out and will die out. I have several videos of it happening.
Passenger side headlamp failure. Taken to dealer twice and replaced by owner twice. Lamp works for 1-2 weeks requiring new bulb installation. Replaced bulb 5th time on 2-18-2017 and does not work all.
My 2008 T&C's tpim started acting up (key click/no start) when in the 90 degree summer of 2017. Now it consistently does this when the external temperature is above 80 degrees. I've gotten by with resetting the gear selector and it will start on the first or second try but recently it is getting worse. Recently, 2016, I also noticed that my tire pressure monitoring system will go out until I restart the car. The tpim lacks a heat shield and is getting affected by heat. I'm waiting/hoping for a recall on this.

My vehicle shuts off while driving making it very dangerous. The ignition switch clicks and the van shuts down at the same time consequence: If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. This is what I found out to be the issue in most cases. There was a recall back on June 2014; they fix that problem in my vehicle on June 2015; now is back again; they say there is no recall on this problem, but it continues resurfacing.this problem happened four ( 4 ) time in the month of November 2016 already during driving time ( vehicle in motion); also some times won't even start right away; back in 2014 it was call: Recall campaign id is: 14V373000 dated June 26, 2014. Could be recall L25 or R03. Not sure which one is the correct, they have told me R03.
