This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
This complaint is being filed in connection with NHTSA'a recall # 14V-373/manufacture's recall number R03. Summary: Chrysler's handling of the recall is essentially a shell game that is intended to mislead the NHTSA into believing that Chrysler is taking substantive action. Chrysler's most recent actions are a total scam. Customers are informed via mail that the replacement parts are available when in fact the parts are not available and the local dealerships can not order the correct part and have no idea of when the parts will be available. Chrysler's letter stating that the part is available is a lie. Backround: The original recall notice was sent to me over a year ago and stated that when the part became available I would be notified to bring the car to a dealership to replace the part. In late June of 2015, Chrysler informed me that the part was now available at the dealerships. On july14, I brought my car to the dealership only to be told (at the end of the working day) that they did not have the correct replacement part. I was told that they would try to locate the correct part and would get back to me early the next day. The next day I was notified that they could not find the part. Further, I was told that they can't place an order for the part and they had no idea of when the part would be available. Finally, they told me that I would have to keep calling the dealership to see if the dealership had received the part. So in essence, I have to call the dealership everyday to see if they have received the correct part. Chrysler is not living up to the deal they made with the NHTSA. I have experienced the condition that prompted the recall at least twice and reported it to my dealership. On one of these occurrences, I was driving on I395 through the district when the car just died in rush hour traffic.

Tipm(total power control module) acted up evidenced by no power occasionally to the car one week before total failure of the tipm. Able to get started after multiple tries and got it to tires plus for diagnosis and repair. After hearing from service manager that problem is widespread & in my reading on internet about all the cars with this problem I called the Chrysler dealership. They acted surprised and played 'tough' on the issue by saying the part is only covered for 2 years. Repairs were made, computer flashed at Chrysler and the cost to me for the defect was $1121.85 and a week later for an additional $104.68 for a battery replacement. (old battery still good, but suspect to power issue, perhaps related?) today, 7/9/15, my car is once again down with the same computer problem, this time having to be towed in as it would not "jump." This problem is widespread and the car company should reimburse consumers for their cost and trouble. Thank you. Updated 10/07/15 updated 11/08/2017
