While I was driving on the on-ramp to a highway my car hit a bump and lost control and I started sliding. Thankfully there happened to be no one coming. I noticed that when my van stopped halfway in a ditch and halfway on the left lane I went to move my vehicle it wouldn't move so I then noticed it was off but still in drive and the key was still on. So I put it in park and shut it off then turned it back on then was able to proceed driving but since then my esp/bas, and traction control light have been on. After having that happened I had the recall on my van fixed. Well the lights are still there and now the driving is worse. I cant control my steering and they say it is my steering angle sensor. They also say my catalytic converter needs fixed and a PCM flash. Which I don't understand how all these problems started since my ignition unwillingly shut off. I am thinking that caused a power surge, and now its going to cost me $2000 to fix it if not more. My problems now are: 1) misfire in cylinder 4 2) rough idle 3) accelerating slowly while RPM's are above 3000 4) stumbling while driving (shakes or vibrates really bad while in drive/ or putters) 5) esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light illuminated on dash 6) steering wheel shakes from left to right on its own 7) loud engine noise 8) motor shakes 9) ABS reader says to replace steering angle sensor (clockspring) 10) there is more I just cannot think of it right now. This is currently what I have fixed in the last two weeks to see if it helps the problem. 1) oil change (always up to date) 2) spark plugs 3) spark plug wires 4) battery 5) ignition coil pack 6) upstream O2 sensor 7) recall done on win module ignition switch fobik key I have contacted Chrysler to inform them of this and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and its not a manufacture defect.

I received a recall notice 3 months ago. The dealer said they would order parts and call me when they come in. I have been waiting now for three months. I have contacted them to check on the parts and they continue to say it is still on order. If this was a safety issue as the recall explains you think someone would want this fixed sooner. No one seems in a rush to get it done.

I made an appointment for the recall to be fixed. The dealer called me the night before and said the part was used for another customer. I made the second appointment for June 26, 2015. The dealer called the day before and confirmed. I got to the dealer at 8:10am. At 9:15am a sales associate came out and told me that the part was not there. I wasted my time and am very disappointed!! I do not have anything positive to say about Chrysler. Their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with as a consumer. This is one week later and not even the manager has called me. I will never ever purchase with Chrysler again!!

Coasting or in a decelercation situation the cars stalls without warning, radio still on, the only notice that the engine has stalled is loss of power steering, the only light that comes on is the traction control light. This has happened over 20 times. Have taken to the dealer no less than 6 times but no codes set and unable to diagnose the problem.

The vehicle electrical system failed while the car was in use. There was no power to any system in the car except the rear wiper kept going even after the engine key was removed. Lights would randomly come on and off while the car was off until the battery ran down. The dealer said the tipm or (totally integrated power module) failed. I was lucky me or my family was not injured over this failure.

The problems I experienced included: 1. car stopping while driving 2. ignition sticks and turns for extended period, then starts 3. ignition does not start, just clicks, the starts after several tries. I put in new starter for $400 that did not fix it. Chrysler recommended replacement of the win module at my cost of $800 to fix this problem. Said repair should fix all of this issues. They said it was warranty repair and to send in payment receipts for reimbursement. It appears that this was a recall from 2011 under the same L25. This repair was done on 8/22/2014 and did not fix the problem. Have not been reimbursed. Chrysler then acknowledged another updated L25 recall and that the fix will permanently repair van and fix all issues. They sent official recall notice undated but received by me on 9/15/2014. Parts to permanently fix this defect are unavailable currently. I have not driven the vehicle since 9/5/2014 because I do not feel safe in it, as it has stopped on the road previously. The letter states that vehicle may stop, increasing the risk of crash and injury, but that I should go ahead and drive it anyways. What!! as a responsible and safe person, I choose not to drive this rather than take the risk. How can you issue recall but not have the parts to fix it" they do not even have a time frame. How can I expedite recall repairs? what legal recourse do I have? I don't want this car anymore. Will it be safe even when they finally get the proper parts and repair it? I am very upset with this issue, as well as the loss of use of my vehicle for an extended time, inconvenience, mental distress, and additional costs. This is totally irresponsible and lacking in care by Chrysler. This is the same problem GM had with many injuries and deaths. How many people must get hurt or die" I will not buy another product from them.

I bought a brand new 2008 Town and country in Dec. 2007. For four years it didn't have a problem except for the whirring sound. This problem of tipm probably appeared about two years ago when the van suddenly overheated along the freeway while driving just about 12 miles from my home. The service center said that there was a leaking hose in the cooling system but I told them that prior to that the wiper just started to move without turning it on. The service center apparently fixed it. But the same thing has been happening on and off. All the service center can say is it is drivable. About two months ago it overheated again, and my wife who was using the car had it towed to the Chrysler service center close to where the car stalled. That is the carpros in renton, Washington, who said that the problem again was the coolant system hose that was leaking, also something about the timing belt that needed to be changed, the cylinder head gasket that needed to be changed. While I have an extended warranty they were charging too much so I had it towed to the service center where I bought the car. This service center fixed the cylinder head, got the car back but still it has the same problem of windshield turning on, lights going on and off in the instrument panel, dinging sound going on and off even while driving, driver seat rocking back and forth. I sent it back to the service center where I bought it from and this time they finally said that it is the tipm that is causing the problem. They told me that the electronic board was changed totally and was reprogrammed. But the following day, it still has the same problem.

While I am driving my 2008 Chrysler Town and country it shuts off without warning. When this happens I am usually driving less than 35mph but it is very difficult to control the van due to a loss of power steering, electric, and gas control. I usually have to apply the brake, shift it in neutral, and wait for the engine to restart (which sometimes stalls for a few seconds). This is very concerning to me as a parent with 3 children who usually travel with me and it happens frequently--so far up to 6 times in 1 day.

3 occasions driving my 3 children to school my Town and country became unresponsive. The steering failed, brakes and the car went unresponsive. The electric stability control warning light came on. To remedy, I had to put car in park, and restart vehicle. The last instance when this occurred I rolled into a four way stop as my breaks did not work. An online search has shown many other have experienced this issue with the Dodge Caravan and Town & Country both made by Chrysler. Took van to dealer who said diagnostic test showed nothing (other people report this same experience). They updated the PCM software. I find it hard to believe a software update would render my car safe to drive and be the factor that caused it's whole system, brakes included to shut down. This issue needs to be looked at. Mini van drivers carry children!

During the past three months all of a sudden the horn starts blowing erratically, the windshield washers and wipers activate, lights start flashing, the doors lock automatically and the transmission will not shift into high. This has happened five or six times since Aug., having occurred four times in the past three weeks. It happens while the car is running and while it is not. With each incident the symptoms become worse and the duration is longer. Last week, I had to pull off the road and wait five or ten minutes for it to stop as I could not see where I was going. Yesterday, it occurred while sitting in the garage and I had to disconnect the battery to stop it. The Chrysler dealer says it is the total integrated power module that needs to be replaced @$524.12. Additionally now at 54,000 miles the front rotors are warped and need to be replaced @ $409. They had to be replaced @ 25,834 and 35,272. When the brakes are applied the front end and steering vibrate uncontrollably. Both conditions are safety issues, have been well document by hundreds of people, and are obvious inherent defects in the vehicle, and should be issues that result in a recall of these vehicles and repairs or replacements made at Chrysler's expense, yet they continue to deny there is an inherent problem. Both issues could result in a serious accident.

Along with the hundreds of complaints, I too have a problem with horn, lighting, wipers and fluid, car running with no key in ignition etc. While out of town the car had these happen and brought to a certified Chrysler shop. They diagnosed as a bad battery connection after a mechanic driving to his home and back. I was sent on my way after paying $100. Not a large amount but silly when you have to bring the car to my local shop for the same problem three days later. This time it happened while driving at night in the middle of the road. I am appalled by how many complaints have been filed and there has not been a recall on this could be fatal defective part that is shutting down a car with no warning while driving. What do 90% of mini van drivers have in common? children!!! how unsafe and absurd. Fyi my car is going to be fixed under an extended warranty but this is a major safety concern for anyone that drives a Chrysler van.

My tipm module needs to be replaced but since there is a national shortage for this part. I like thousands of others have to wait 6-9 months before there will be any available. This part has been on back order for a very long time. Chrysler is very lucky that no one has been seriously hurt.

Dashboard warning light esp/bas illuminated. I brought the vehicle to the dealer to see what was wrong. The dealer diagnosed the problem and found that the "steering angle sensor" was bad. The steering "clock spring" was suggested to be replaced due to the fact that the "steering angle sensor" was part of a whole unit (the clock spring) and cannot be changed separately. My vehicle was just out of warranty at 36,000 miles and was no longer covered. I am concerned that the bad part is connected to the vehicle stability system and why it has failed so early in the life of the vehicle.
