The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Town and country. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 10V008000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module). After the recall remedy was performed the air bag warning indicator would intermittently illuminate. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they detected a problem with the front driver side air bag. The technician was unable to determine the specific cause to the repeated failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,461.
The airbag light came on this winter during snowy sloppy weather conditions, indicating an air bag safety failure on our 2006 Town and country mini van. It has remained on all winter. We talked to the dealer and they stated they would fix it but we would have to pay for it. Our concern is why Chrysler is waiting so long to issue a recall. This could be a life or death situation since the airbag will not deploy when that light is on.
