The hatchback now will only open on about 1 out of every 15 attempts by hand. All the doors are unlocked, but you push the button in the handle and pull, and it doesn't open. The only way to open it (consistently) is either by using the button on the remote, or the button inside the car. However, seeing as one of the power side doors stopped working, I'm convinced the power opener on the hatch will die at some point, and there will be no way to open it. One of many, many issues we had with this vehicle, all between 50,000-65,000 miles.
