CarComplaints.com Notes: What the heck happened here? A year after getting our "seal of pretty good" for the 2004, Chrysler turns around and delivers this crapwagon.

This minivan has problems ranging from rack and pinion steering failure to door locks that won't let you out. And trust me, you'll want to get out.

Our Town and Country has been eating batteries. It is not the alternator, starter or the actual batteries. The mechanics at different shops have no clue. In the meantime, we are having to disconnect the cables overnight and while at work just to get around until we can either get it fixed or get a new car.

This 2005 Chrysler Town and Country I just bought it 2 months ago and now about 3 weeks ago it started acting up.

I drive it to go to wall mart and it's raining really hard. After shopping it doesn't want to start until after trying 3 times, but my speedometer doesn't work at all. I got panicked. So I ended up driving without the speedometer. When I got home I shut off the engine, try to start it again, this time it doesn't want to turn on anymore, even the key remote doesn't want to work. The next day it started working again but the speedometer is still not working and the headlight is automatically on.

We took it to the service and they said the cluster is bad. They referred us to the speedometer specialist. After a day, they called us to pick up but when I tried using the remote it still was not working. The guy said it was working fine earlier the next day. He called us that it started working again and told us to pick up the car and don't pay anything. I just don't want any trouble so we pick it up and took it to the Dodge dealership.

They called us and said they needed to check the electrical and I said OK. They called us again and said the electrical OS is fine, it keeps pointing to the cluster as the problem and we need to replace it. Brand new it will cost 500 dollars total and with the labor, almost a $1,000. I said OK. In time you can pick it up again. Same O, doesn't want to start. I am tired already because they can't find anything wrong but the problem is not solved yet. Please, can anybody tell what the hell is going on in this car?

Replaced battery twice. Still won't start. Have to hook up something metal to battery cables to start it. When it starts gauges/idiot lights go crazy on dash. Had battery cables replaced. Still does it. Had alternator, battery, starter, voltage regulator checked all fine. Mechanic can't figure it out. So???
