This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Abc showed that the gen3 seat belts are unsafe, I wrote to the dealer 3/13/02 and diamler chryler on 4/08/02. I recieved a call today from diamler chrylser stating they are not replacing the seat belts.they are sending me a letter. I am following the instructions on the intenet site that told me to make a complaint out to you if I get answer where they will do nothing.
It is obvious that the gen3 seatbelts in this vehicle are unsafe and need to be recalled. They are a safety hazard and I want to be informed on how to have them changed.
Please refer to abcnews.com primetime March 7, 2002, death of bart moran as a result of defective gen-3 seatbelt. There is also a class action lawsuit from 5 states regarding this matter. My van is equipped with these seatbelts and is a major concern to me and my family. I have contacted Chrysler headquarters and they referred me to your dept. Stating that there weren't enough cases for your dept. To look into this matter. How many people must be injured or killed before NHTSA takes any action. Please respond to my concern within a reasonable amount of time, as my safety and the safety of my family is of the utmost importance.
