The contact owns a 2001 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle suddenly stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The contact examined the vehicle and determined that the fuel injection wire harness was defective. The wire harness was replaced but the failure was not remedied. Also, the contact indicated that the rear hatch door would erroneously unlock intermittently. The failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Many electrical problems, windows don't go up and down, radio and cd player does not work, fan on the heater does not come on at times, heated seats do not work, sliding door has come open while driving (very dangerous if you have kids). Popping noise in the front suspension. Still does it after being worked on.

Driver's side sliding door will not work in cold weather. It is usually warm in southern la, but in the early mornings while taking my children to preschool, I could not get my son's sliding door to open. It always worked when I took it to the dealer, but several school employees and others have seen that the door does not work either with the electronic key, button on the door itself, or with the overhead button located above the dashboard. Oddly, also only when the weather is cooler, my high beam on my driver's side headlight will not work. The headlights will both come on, but as soon as I depress the button for high beams, the driver's light goes off completely. Is there a correlation since they are both on the driver's side" perhaps something electrical" we bought the vehicle used last September 2004 and almost immediately started having problems with the sliding door as soon as the weather was cooler. I am guessing at the October 20/04 date, but I know I started having problems in Oct of last year shortly after we'd purchased the vehicle. I had problems virtually every early morning in the winter from Oct-Feb, and the same thing just started again as the mornings are once again cooler (cooler in baton rouge means around 45 F). The diagnostics they have run at my Chrysler dealership keep coming up empty and they must think it's all in my head. At least 2 other mechanics from where I have my oil changed have witnessed the problems with the doors and lights firsthand, but never those at the dealership. Is this happening to others with the same make and model?

I have a 2001 Chrysler Town and country, I have a problem with the power sliding door, this has now happened twice first time fed. 2005 and now Dec. 2005. Both times it has happened it has been cold, single digit temp. When starting the car and the power sliding door is shut, the moter of the door kicks on and keeps trying to close the door, resulting from this, the door becomes ajar, and the auto slide door will not work plus the door will not shut the door latch freezes in the lock mode and the door will not close!!! this happened when I turn the car on, first time my kids were in the car the second time no one was in the car and the power slide door was never touched.

The power sliding side door on a 2001 Chrysler van opened automatically at 60 mph. These doors have been fixed before as they would open again after being closed but that only happened when vehicle was parked. Now it is happening while driving.

We purchased our 2001 Chrysler Town and country new in July of 2001. Since that time it has been in and out of the shop for various odd electrically related issues and numerous recalls. We have had problems with the power door locks and even problems opening them with the key several times on the sliding doors(service dept at dealership just dismissed it as "unable to duplicate"). two years ago, the radio got stuck on (could not adjust volume, turn it off or anything). This was the beginning of upwards of 5 times the radio has been taken out and replaced with a new unit after being sent off. This requires two visits each time to drop off the car. The latest time, they had our radio for 5 months! the console lights would not come on, so you could't read anything on the panel at night. They replaced the dimmer switch knob. They had to replace the clockspring in the steering wheel because the airbag light kept coming on when you turned the wheel. We keep telling them that there is something wrong with the electrical system but they say it checks out fine. We have also had the driver's window lock up a few times, and the automatic locks not operational when you reach 20 mph. I believe that there are several other issues that we have had, but I cannot recall them as the list is so long.

Consumer shifted gear into park, but vehicle was not in park, it was still in drive. Consumer took vehicle to dealer, and is waiting for explanation of cause. Right rear seat recliner assemblies were replaced due to a rattling noise. Sliding doors don't always completely shut, while driving they will open, dealer states this is the design of the door.
